Performed live at HOPKEN, Osaka, Japan on November 20th 2017 with a KOMA Field Kit & Field Kit FX using a motor, two contact microphones, two egg timers, AM Radio, one Korg Monotron Delay and vocal chords as sound sources. Recorded with a Zoom H4n's built in microphone. Normalized, no equalization.

Wouter Jaspers - Live In Osaka

My live performance at KM28 in Berlin, opening up for Joke Lanz and Shelley Hirsch. I broke my left wrist the day before, so had to change my plans last minute and went for a simple back-to-basic electroacoustic show, using my cast as my resonator. It was painful, yet fun and it has a bit of an abrupt ending and nice awkward applause.

Preliminary Saturation is the electro-acoustic, free improv, drone-duo in which Dutch sound artists Wouter Jaspers and Steffan de Turck combine their forces. Every once and a while, they come together in the safe harbor of one of their living rooms, pop open a bottle of wine, light some cigarettes and start improvising as long as the mood is right.

“In 2010 the old and the new meet up, at last! The old, represented by Frans de Waard  joins forces with his twenty years younger peer Wouter Jaspers ). Armed with their skills and tricks of trade (magnetic wave fields, crackle box, sound effects, dictaphones etc.) they went out to play a concert in Budapest and wasted no time while being there. A temporary, battery operated studio in the Hotel Ventura served to tape their works and resulted in ‘Komeet’, a highly psychedelic electronic sound piece of comets approaching earth. A collison course of cascading sound.”
