2 years ago I fell in love with a girl who planted a light everywhere she went. She was radiant and down to earth. She was a sunflower. But over time we grew apart and even though she was still the sunflower I fell in love with, the connotation of what a sunflower was shifted completely. My focus shifted from the light of the sunflower to the shadow the flower cast. Initially, I thought the shadow was reflective of the girl I was in love with but in reality, the shadow was just the place I was in.
