2016년 5월 28일. 서울 메트로 구의역에서 일어난 사고는 그저 한 비정규직 근로자의 죽음이 아니었다. 답답한 현실 속에서도 꿈을 잃지 않으려 노력했던 그의 모습에서 많은 사람들은 매일 살기위해 사투를 벌이는 “우리들”의 모습을 보았을 것이다. 너무나 어린 나이에, 너무나 어이없이 세상을 떠나야했던 그 날은 공교롭게도 그의 스무 살 생일을 하루 앞둔, 열아홉 살 마지막 날이었다. 

혼성 듀오 DUO KLANG(듀오클랑)의 첫 싱글 앨범에는 굳은 현실에도 끝까지 꿈을 놓지 않았던 열아홉 살 그에게 헌정하는 노래 <열아홉 살, 마지막 나이>가 수록되었다. 5월 28일 기사를 읽고 써내려간 이 노래에는 안타까운 죽음에 대한 비통함과, 한 사람의 어른으로써 더 나은 사회를 만들지 못한 부끄러움이 담겨있다.
