For number 9 in our series, we introduce Xander. As a very close friend and a supporter of Dig Deep since its inception in Newcastle, we're glad to share his first mix online. 

He's been on his own musical journey alongside us since we met, living in London for a period of time and more recently joining us in Leeds. Collecting records along the way, he's finally recorded a mix that he is happy with and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Marielou, born in San Francisco and based in Milan, is an emerging DJ which has built a deep knowledge and interest in music since a young age, especially lover of vinyl records.
While living in Milan she has been collaborating with various collectives and performed in different clubbing environments.
She is known for her meticulous selection of music and er sound is rooted in techno and mixes are a blend of trance, electro and ambient eclectic sounds.

@DiscoAzul is a musical vision that evokes the passion for research and and sharing, in a collective context.
Azul, from the Berber "come towards my heart" is an invitation to immerse yourself in a timeless atmosphere: in the raves at dawn, on the beaches at sunset, in the clubs at night, that's where the Disco Azul project was born and keeps evolving.


"We decided to record a set digging through forgotten archives and dusty vinyl stocks: a search through euro-house, trance, tribal, ethnic records with raw grooves and hypnotic old-school synths."

Comms have picked up new broadcasts from the Hotbox mothership. First scans show signs of a fresh Hot Series mix courtesy of none other than Sips (@djsips. Surrounded by his close-knit group of friends, Sips gained trust in his own music taste and is not afraid to let his flow drift into playing whatever he feels like playing. 

Sips is not holding back for this one, cooking us up some expertly selected groovers one by one for the next hour or so embedding his happy-go-lucky attitude in his selection. A lovely mix that goes deeper and deeper, exploring bass driven melodies from start to finish. Get a taste of his goodies at the next Fini on December 1st b2b Hotbox co-honcho Aymeric.

Introducing the Long-Haired Nocturnal Creature. 
 
Born in 1996 into a family of travelers, SELA has roamed the globe since childhood, fostering an open mind and a deep appreciation for life's simple things. 
 
A Pisces at heart, he began his solitary musical journey in 2016, spinning his father's records. Finding his identity in acid house, tech house/minimal, and breaks, his talent has often remained in the shadows. 
 
Venturing to London to broaden his musical horizons, he's now confident in sharing his artistic vision. From raves to intimate club settings like the renowned Lion & Lamb, he's left his mark. 
 
After two transformative years, filled record bags, heightened skills, and countless memories, it's time to return. Back in Lyon, he spreads English vibes through the Ya.R collective and his debut release on Parallele Connection. 
 
I personally met SELA, who came to dig at the Rolling Store during the Decadance Festival. Later, I attended one of his peak time set and was blown away by his technical mastery and the story he crafted. Naturally, I invited him for this podcast series aimed at introducing you to underground artists!

The Swiss DJ, now in Berlin, is an enfant prodige which we were eager to introduce for his dig-deep selection.
