"Aviation Oak Pi Mi" is the fourth piece from the 2017 album "M. Tapio V." by Alexander Wheill, the tribute/homage album to the musical and sound design genius of Mika Vainio (1963-2017). "Aviation Oak Pi Mi" was chosen as the pinultimate piece on the album due to its minimal but reverberating tones, slowly building up to a rhythmic structure, sometime spliced with by semi-random sound juxtapositions. Special "single" re-mix & re-recording of the full-length "Phrenic Nerve" (42:50 length!). How do you condense a 42+ minute in such a small streaming-friendly format? Canadian project Phraenyq decided to take bits and pieces of their official debut full-length album, add some re-recorded sounds/electronics and offer this "single" which simply can not adequately describe the original piece. I was honored to be asked to be part of the re-editing and co-production.

Wreck Age Recordings began from the ashes of Half-Trak Cassettes in the early-mid 90s, specializing in underground, DIY, unknown, electronic experimentalism, with hints of noise and electro-technoid mutations. Releasing dozens of cassettes before finally converting to digital (CDs) before the rise of the MP3 and free download piracy online, coinciding with a growing lack of interest. Wreck Age fell into the cracks of the forgotten and obsolete, toying with the ideas of a comeback under an online format. Long-time Wreck Age "musical" projects ARCHANGEL (ambient/experimental/noise/illbient/etc) and D.F.S. (technoid-mutations/technoise/rhythmblasts) planning a return soon with upcoming albums. Past projects featured in the Wreck Age roster included Le.Seigneur.Déabolique, Adamo, Zam.Fear, Mikhail Atom, Endich Vis Sat, Holoskanks, Atmospheh-rhycxx, and Mindf*ck to name but a few.
