I was a youngin on the block where my brothers stay broke
Mama working late, fridge damn near empty though
Learned how to stretch meals, learned how to stay strong

Sirens sang lullabies outside my window
Sleep with my shoes on, never know when to go

Second name echoed every time I heard

Mama crying asking God what she do wrong

Heart full of anger, head full of doubt
Just a kid in the streets tryna find a way out

I don’t wanna be another face on a tee
Another “he was good” in a RIP
So I talk to the sky when the night too long
