Hrant Dink was the editor of Agos magazine in Turkey. He was murdered on January 19, 2007 for speaking out about the Armenian Genocide. Article 301 of Turkish penal code writes off the atrocities of the Genocide as the result of "hunger and other suffering" during the First World War.

I don't claim to have to most poignant or moving words. My style is generally short and simple, but tries to bring out the core essence of the moment or emotion in the poem with a blend of familiar and experimental images. I love working with the rhythm of sound in my lines, and playing with the aesthetics of the poem on paper. A great man once said to "write in recollection and amazement for yourself." That is what I hope to achieve with my work, and I hope that anyone who listens can share in the experience.
