I'll treat that rock like a treasure on the days that never end.

I found a life on Caucasus. An eagle as my friend.
I painted with my blood darling, y'know I spread it all too thin.
I learned then how to love her, but love is transient.
I forgot what I'd learned just as quickly once again.

In The Eaves

Wind whistled in the eaves, the earth sang its mournful song. He’s crying in the bathroom all the winter long. When spring sprang up like a jack-in-a-box, he said: ‘I’m too young to waste away in this awful house’. So left at the first light.
Now time’s too big a thing for us to talk about, he handed himself over to gentle indifference. Found peace in the emptiness of it all. No lords, no masters, no spirit or soul. We are only flesh.
So he stumbled through a season sat heavy on a church pew and thought deeply of the violence then men of god can do. When they hear whispers in the wind, have their fears confirmed. That they are not just some part of a greater plan. There were no answers here.
He returned to the house, the whistling in the eaves; and rejoiced in his own culpability. His choices were his and his alone! But soon a voice came over the telephone and spoke of the death of a close friend. 
If nothing means anything then why do I feel so bad? If the choices were mine then I have to stand by them and wonder what the course of events could have been if I’d changed my course of path infinitesimally. 
Could I still see your face? 
And he whispered in the wind; Hallelujah.

I’ve tasted the fruits of my labour. I’ve never seen famine or draught. Hot shame became my bedfellow too long ago to recall now.
It’s a selfish thing to wish for comfort, when comfort is all that you know. Like the world owes you some all consuming love, when you give nothing to no one. 
She said boy don’t you wait to make amends, because time may not be your master but it waits for no man. 
Time runs out.
So I gathered my strength and I cut those cords and I stepped out into the world. But I never found no one could love me as much as I love myself.

Blood Moon

Home? Well home aint what you’ve got. With your fingers wrapped around my throat like a fine silk scarf. The moon aint no one to judge. Just the shadow of some time or place; The worlds full stop.
Please don’t tell me that you’re not falling in love. That you’re no fool for punishment and I won’t tear myself apart. That this means not a god damned thing in the scale of everyone. 
Time? Time aint on our side. It burns like a cigarette in the flesh of my arm. The pain is transient, but the mark indelible as the moons red silhouette. 
Please don’t tell me that this is all we’ve got. That you’re just reading from a card. That we’re just rehearsing both our parts. That we’re just actors in a play, like everyone.

It came upon me like disease; found me basking in the bow of a barkless tree. Crept across my skin like a fever dream. Now no peace will be found.
Dull grass shimmered in the daylight, the colours faded in the midday bright. The glare obscured our eyesight; but I could see for years in front of us.
Now you’re a ghost rattling chains beneath my window. Haunt me darling, don’t you let me go.
Furtive fox crept through the garden. How we laughed when we both saw him; In the bruised light of the sunset (god, I loved you then).
Lover don’t you know where the whistling wind still blows? It takes more than walls to build a home. Nostalgia left us zero sum.

4. Let Go

I can see an old church from my window, 
And sometimes I wish I could go,
Walk around in someone elses clothes, 
Hope and sing like the good Christians do.
But the path I chose, it is different. 
No I won't bend my knee for you.
Rather wander around a cold universe, 
I will not be accountable to.

But am I worse in my own congregation, with money my only true god?
40 hours a week to what justified end? To be the more cohesive cog.
It's so easy to right the worlds problems, in barroom or other-such talk,
Then continue to prey at my desk through the day, too loyal to the system to stop.
