This is the new theme tune for the Irish language current affairs programme Cormac ag a Cúig on Raidió na Gaeltachta.

We made this piece for the hugely respected DJ Cian Ó Cíobháin and his alternative music Raidió na Gaeltachta show "An Taobh Tuathail". 

Cian was looking for a soundscape over which to promote his show. 

When he heard it, he commented that it "...leaps out of the speakers, 43 seconds of musical melodrama..."

We couldn't say it better ourselves! :)

He came back for more!

Cian was kind enough to approach us again when a second promo was required for his legendary An Taobh Tuathail radio show. In this tune we utilised a shruti box as the foundation on which to build a crescendoing piece of music.

Tús Áite Theme Tune

This is a track I co-wrote with my 7 year-old daughter (also the singer). I climbed into the car one day to hear her singing a nice tune, when I asked her what it was she just casually stated, "Oh, it's just something I made up myself."

Over the next couple of days I engaged her with the developing tune and she gave guidance along the way. 

She attends a Gaelscoil (education through the Irish language) so we decided to make the tune bilingual. Hopefully the bilingual nature of the tune could encourage non-Irish speakers to explore the language.

Wummer is the latest incarnation of the songwriting team of Brian Murray and Brian Fitzpatrick. The main goal and general day-to-day activities of Wummer include writing music for other artists, soundtracks and various commissions.

Previous incarnations of the songwriting duo were River (1995-1996) and edgar heaton (2004-2008). 

Wummer also includes the vocal stylings of Natasha Kennedy who, incidentally, played a supporting role in River.

Wummer occasionally perform live in an effort to get feedback for compositions, helping them both form and formulate better music.

Wummer have their own portable music studio allowing them to produce high-quality demos at the drop of a proverbial hat.
