Traversing its halls seems to take days; if only you had a quick way out... This piece captures the joyous nature of an innocent gaming house while concealing the darker truth underneath the facade. Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow - Game Corner/Rocket Hideout (Orchestrated)

The 8th protagonist of Octopath Traveler, H'aanit, hails from the Woodlands-- an area of Osterra completely covered in forests and inhabited by many wild animals. H'aanit herself is accompanied by Linde the snow leopard and studies under her master Z'aanta. These two are the only family she knows and helped get her through the darker parts of her journey. H'aanit's theme reflects both the beauty and the harshness of the Woodlands as well as her relationships with her partner and master. These are reflected in the piece's somber tone and lush harmonies showing the nature of being alone combined with being one with nature.

This piece was one of my absolute favorites when I played through Deltarune and I just had to cover it! It just feels like the culmination of a long journey and representative of the friends made along the way. I hope you enjoy my rendition of this piece!

Here's another cover from Deltarune! When I listened to this piece initially, combined with the intro cutscene, it reminded me a lot of Wind Waker's intro; a sort of story-board tale in pictures combined with very minimal instruments that then expands and contracts as the cutscene goes on. Anyways, I hope you enjoy my rendition of this piece!

Deltarune - The Legend (Orchestrated)

With the release of Pokemon Let's Go, the 1st generation of Pokemon has been remade for the 3rd time! The mass appeal of the original games cannot possibly be understated enough, so I've taken it on myself to orchestrate all the major pieces from the original Pokemon games while sacrificing as little of the atmosphere created by the original soundchip of the Gameboy. As such, these orchestrations are extremely true to their originals, but still contain some of my own personal flair. I hope you enjoy my rendition of the piece that started it all! Enjoy!

Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow - Intro/Title Screen (Orchestrated)

After freeing Pokemon Tower of Team Rocket, you venture back to Saffron City only to find out that the Rocket takeover of Silph Co is underway; the once shining tech company thrown into disarray for an evil gain. This piece is characterized by an extremely dissonant and chromatic melody, symbolizing the turmoil of the company, in addition to short, ostinato-like accents that drive the piece forward. I hope you enjoy my rendition of this theme!

Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow - Silph Co (Orchestrated)

This is it-- the culmination of your journey to become the Pokemon Master. You've defeated the Elite Four; all that remains is the Champion. It's the final battle between you and Blue! This piece captures the intensity of the battle to end all battles with driving bass and percussion throughout. I hope you enjoy my renditions of these themes!

Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow - Indigo Plateau/Champion Battle (Orchestrated)

The 7th protagonist of Octopath Traveler, Therion, hails from the Clifflands-- an area of Osterra filled with large canyons and mining quarries. Therion is a lone thief in Bolderfall with a complicated past. His search for riches leads gets him in trouble as he finds himself having to exercise some of his old demons. Therion's theme reflects the inner turmoil he goes through on his journey as well as the general feeling of loneliness. This is reflected in the piece's sorrowful melodies and ostinato-like rhythms.

Time for a little change of pace for this cover! Mario Kart: Super Circuit was the first game I ever played on my GBA when I was a kid and I played the heck out of it. I kept going back to this course over and over because I absolutely loved the music! So when I had to choose a piece to cover for this month's Pixel Mixers contest, I didn't hesitate to pick this one! I also felt to be more true to the original, I should refrain from making an orchestral cover since it really didn't fit the character of the piece very well. So I did an entirely electronic cover instead!

I too began my journey creating these covers for the Gen 1 Pokemon games, and with this cover, I too am finished! I have to thank everyone who's listened and watched my videos, whether starting with this one or my very first. I don't intend to stop covering video game music-- in fact, this is only the beginning! The 5th protagonist of Octopath Traveler, Primrose, hails from the Sunlands-- an area of Osterra filled withvast deserts and small oases. Primrose is an exotic dancer in Sunshade with a complicated past. Her journey for revenge leads her around Osterra searching for the group of rogues who killed her father. Primrose's theme reflects her steadfast dedication to her cause as well as the lengths she must go to accomplish her goal. This is reflected in the piece's somber tone and expressive, dance-like qualities.

The 4th protagonist of Octopath Traveler, Olberic, hails from the Highlands-- an area of Osterra in a large mountain range with scattered small towns. Olberic is a warrior in Cobbleston who once was a legendary knight for a forgotten kingdom. His journey to find the truth and settle a score leads him around Osterra searching for the traitor who killed his king. Olberic's theme reflects his legendary origins as well as his search for a new cause to live. This is reflected in the piece's triumphant yet saddening melody and unresolving harmonies.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - Overworld Theme (Orchestrated)

Change of pace for this cover! I've been a Fire Emblem fan since the first game on the GBA released in the US. Awakening meant a lot to the creators of Fire Emblem as it was a last ditch effort to revive the series. If it had not succeeded, that likely would have been the end of the Fire Emblem franchise. It is now the 7th anniversary of Fire Emblem Awakening, so I thought I'd celebrate with my cover of one of the central "Id" themes: Serenity.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - Mabe Village (Orchestrated)

Another Fire Emblem cover this time! I really enjoyed Fates-- though maybe not as much as Awakening-- and I was in a somber mood, so I decided to cover this piece. This is the theme that makes any Fates player reset their game immediately, which is kind of sad since most never hear the entire piece all the way through. I felt a laid-back, cool jazz arrangement would fit this piece well-- so here it is!

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - Mysterious Woods (Re-Orchestrated)

Another change of pace cover! This time it's my favorite theme from one of my all time favorite Mario games! I decided to stay pretty true to the original here; however, I leaned more towards a chiptune/electronic cover this time. The opening I added some very slight changes to make it sound a bit more realistic, and the chiptune sounds you hear are from an actual GameBoy! Added in are some organ and keyboard instruments played from my Roland synth, and voilà!

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door - Title/File Select Theme (Cover)

Back to the Fire Emblem that started it all (for me)! This piece really is one of the more underrated tracks in all of FE history, so I felt like I needed to cover it! I went back to a more orchestral style for this one because it felt more emotional and delicate-- fitting for Ninian's theme.

Another change of pace cover! This time it's a medley/mashup of 2 wacky professor themes from 2 different games! This was originally going to be my entry for this month's Pixel Mixers contest, but it took me a little longer than I thought to finish.

The mystery of the island-- it is behind this song. Shrouded in a beautiful melody, the song calls out to you-- as if from a dream-- telling you to awaken. But you are not sleeping, are you?

I'm back! --and with one of my favorite pieces of video game music in all of video games: the Ballad of the Wind Fish! This track also contains the versions of the Ballad from the beach scene with Marin and the duet with Link and Marin, as well as the final version with all the instruments. 

This video also marks my 1 year anniversary making video game music covers, so think of this piece as the culmination of 1 year of mostly weekly covers! I'm so glad to have so many people who enjoy my covers; I hope you continue to look forward to another year (and more) of new covers!

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - Ballad of the Wind Fish (Orchestrated)

You thought I was done with Octopath Traveler covers? Think again! This game is filled to the brim with great music, and this piece is absolutely one of the best in the game! For this cover, I added on the transitional intro from Olberic's chapters called "For Redemption" because I love the dynamic nature of it and it's my favorite intro to the battle themes. I take a page out of Nishiki's play book and reference my own orchestration of Olberic's theme in the transition-- pretty cool right? The actual battle theme is more of a departure from my comfort zone and more of an adventure into the world of rock instead of my usual orchestral and jazz covers!
