Sabo's record label, Sol Selectas, presents a sensational collaborative organic house album by Hamza Rahimtula and the Rajasthan Folkstars. It's an Indian folk fusion that combines the artists' Indian heritage with traditional house music from the Western World.

The tracks on the album transition between organic house with Indian vocals and traditional instruments, through to jazzy, soulful house, inspired by the classic sound of Chicago.

Hamza Rahimtula is already an established producer who has released music through various Sol Selectas compilations. This is the first time he has done a full release of original material for Sol Selectas, and his tracks can also be found on other prestigious record labels ranging from Nervous Records to his own WindHorse Records. He is also one of India's most in-demand underground DJs.

All ten of the tracks have been made in collaboration with the Rajasthan Folkstars who with this album are making their first official release. Rajasthan Folkstars are a group of Indian musicians who add live vocals and instruments to Hamza Rahimtula's DJ sets, and this time they have joined him in the studio to augment his album with vocals and live instruments.

"Kanudo Ni Jaane" is a fusion of Brazilian carnival culture and Hindu mythology story, where the goddess Radha breaks her clay pot of water, while she steals a flute belonging to another mythical being. It's a feel-good groove where Latin drums underpin Indian vocals.

The art by Helia Jamali embodies the emotional power of freedom itself, represented by the warm colours and open arms of the eagle.

We’re excited to premiere “Algoza” — the third track from Origins, the upcoming collaboration between Hamza Rahimtula and Rajasthan Folkstars — a day ahead of its official release on Sol Selectas.

Built around the twin flute of the same name, “Algoza” threads raw melodic phrasing with a crisp electronic structure, capturing what Hamza describes as “a balance between the cerebral and the physical.” You’ll hear minimal percussion from Indian, African, and Latin traditions stitched into a hypnotic backbone, plus a short vocal sample from Nelson Mandela that cuts through with a clear message: listen more deeply.

Renowned Indian house music producer Hamza Rahimtula joins forces with the Rajasthan Folkstars for Origins—a groundbreaking 10-track album that blends the hypnotic pulse of house music with the rich textures of Rajasthani folk. This debut collaboration marks a new chapter in India's electronic music scene, celebrating cross-cultural musicality and deep-rooted traditions.
Featuring master musicians Jaisa Khan (khartal), Firoz Khan (bhapang), Bhutta Khan (vocals), Bhawru Khan (sarangi), and Shakoor Khan Langa (algoza flute, morchang), Origins is a vivid tapestry of sound where ancestral instruments meet modern electronic production. 

Deeply inspired by Punjabi Sufi poet Bulleh Shah, this track carries an inherent mysticism that Hamza wanted to reflect in its production. He drew from the deep tech minimal sound he had absorbed at the famed Fabric club in London. The result is a sparse yet intricate arrangement that allows the vocal’s spiritual intensity to shine. Using a Roland TR-8S, Hamza programmed intricate rhythmic textures, blending acid tones and percussive glitches to create an immersive sonic landscape.
This track embodies Hamza’s dual approach—sometimes acting as a musician to shape the composition, and at others, stepping back to let musicians and their instruments take the lead.
