Erdi Irmak debuts on SOL with the sublime ‘Outcast' EP. Irmak's prowess as a master of melodies and groove is well known with numerous appearances on the likes of Tale & Tone, Hoomidaas, XYZ and Where The Heart is.

The ‘Outcast' EP sees the Istanbul native delve deeper into the ambient world. The title track is a richly textured and atmospheric cut. Distant strings and soft synth-work set the scene almost immediately as a hypnotic melodic line rides front and centre. Delicate, emotive keys coat the surface, elevating the track into an irresistibly entrancing experience.

‘Swamp City' takes a darker turn. It conjures up a thrilling atmosphere with wavering synth-work and menacing arpeggiators. The harrowing feel is contrasted impeccably by a light melody that emergences once more with a hypnotic repetition.

With newcomers and label favorites alike, the six track release continues to harvest XYZ's creative direction as an artist-first label, purveying talented and innovative producers with an insightful story to tell.

Leading the line is a Romanian-bred collaborative project between Bross and VICTHOR. Rich drum rhythms greet a delightful piano melody, as Piece, Peace sets us on our way with a truly beautiful offering.

The Turkish maestro Gadi Mitrani debuts on XYZ with Robot With a Heart. Synthetic tones enter the fold over a hearty hook, igniting the groove on this pearl of a production.

We revisit Erdi Irmak’s instant classic, I Can Find, with a freshly squeezed remix from Montreal’s own Oiseau de nuit & Laure. With a lifelong bond rooted in a shared love of music, this brother-sister pairing brings an after-hour tilt, opening space for rich melancholy.

As a new dawn arrives, we’re thrilled to welcome back Quebec’s Monarke to XYZ. There’s Still Time fosters a progressive sizzler, with swirling soundscapes pushing us deep into the solar system.

Canada’s Tyler Mesa returns to the imprint with a heady heater, showcasing his range and innovation in the studio. Serene Dream is all about the synthetic hook, which ebbs & flows perfectly over a masterful melody. A soon-to-be club classic from Mesa to kick off the year.

Closing out our third edition of Blanche is our beloved Brazileiro - Maty Owl - who provides an instrumental version of his recent remix for Erdi Irmak. Keep ears tuned, as we have lots more Maty Owl material coming in the near future!

Continuing a strong start to the year, Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint welcomes Microlot back to the label for his debut EP ‘All Living Things’. Hailing from Australia, Luke Warren aka Mircolot has been a fixture of Australia’s electronic underground for the better part of a decade. Noted for his evocative textures, organic grooves and dubby rhythmic structures, Microlot's craft shines through vividly, making each one of his creations an absorbing experience. On the strength of releases for Pablo Bolivar’s Seven Villas, the Sydney resident made his Sound Avenue debut in 2021 with a remix of Madloch and Subnode’s ‘Utopia’, a project which would lead to a two-track showcase via label affiliate Crossfade Sounds in 2022. Now, making a welcome return to Sound Avenue, Microlot unveils the first of three sampler EP’s which will precede the release of his debut album due in November of this year.

'The twenty-third release of Armadillo Records, an avant-garde label run by Guy J, presents a three-track material produced by a Los Angeles-based artist Nick Newman. The British-born Nick has created almost twenty minutes of forward-thinking themes that defy classification. A New Chapter is not just the name of the opening track but also a conceptual statement of the entire release. Followed by A Sense of Belonging, the sonic experimentation gets deeper into abstraction. The music culminates with Broken Keys, a final piece of the cerebral audio puzzle, where crackles and background noises become part of the imaginative expression. Nick took his artistry to previously unexplored depths. The music showcases an expansion of the author's musical range that has become even more mature through his stream-of- consciousness sound structures and the dreamy atmosphere.'

Brazilian multi-instrumentalist & producer Maty Owl has captured the eyes & ears of global dancers. 2022 was a standout year for Maty, unveiling sensational projects with Saisons and Timeless Moments, plus a tantalizing remix of Erdi Irmak right here on XYZ. We are thrilled to welcome Maty Owl to our TOR with his debut EP on the label - Astral Friend.

On the A-side, White Room opens with crisp percussives and lush landscapes of sound. Afro tones flow seamlessly into the mix, with chopped vocal hooks balanced by pristine piano melodies. A bountiful bassline greets a punchy kick, offering a blissful dancefloor number for the finest of selectors & dancers alike. 

On the flip, Astal Friend welcomes progressive prominence, as effervescent & elongated synthetics capture the imagination. Surging sounds ebb & flow as Owl’s ominous tones ignite the night with afterhours flavors.

Closing out the project is VS, offering a middle ground between it’s two predecessors. Swirling synths rest upon rising melodies, elevating energy to a peak while the bassline goes to work.
