'Nico Balducci returns to Under Pressure with his 'Glasgow EP' , 3 Tracks inspired by the great Scottish city.

An impressive run of recent releases from the Scottish DJ/Producer on labels including Circus, Under No Illusion, Safe Music, Flashmob to name a few, have seen the music picking up support at Radio1 from Danny Howard and across the airwaves of Dash Radio, Select Radio and more. Regular support comes from the biggest names in electronic music including Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Sasha, Syreeta, Nic Fancuilli and the list goes on.    Opening the EP, lead track 'Glasgow' gives a nod to Nico's home city with its incandescent bright base lead and hypno stabs all gathering pace around a set of really clever percussion loops and staggered vocal. This makes for a very cool and contemporary sounding EP opener.   Moving on Nico takes us into the peak time hours with 'The Get Down' a groove based roller with distinctive vocal samples and a heavy hitting high energy base lead making this one one for the heads out there.  Closing out the EP is 'Departure' with its rave style synth's and constant percussion elements all expertly wrapped around an elongated riser and killer drop.'

Gorje Hewek follows up last year’s impressive ‘Life EP’, with a new 5-track package brimming with collaborative spirit. The work also marks the Watergate label debut of the legendary Hernan Cattaneo.
 
The artist is a mainstay of the All Day I Dream collective and a master of intricately woven electronic compositions, which also transfix the dancefloor. For his return contribution to Watergate Records he brings a string of cohorts in toe – Dulus, Polo & Molac from his excellent Shanti Records imprint, alongside ADID affiliate Roy Rosenfeld and Argentinean great Cattaeno.
 
The opener ‘Altitude’ is a dreamy bass-driven heater that unfolds beautifully over an eight-minute period and is highlighted by a key driven melody that’s both playful and emotive. ‘Astro World’ is an eclectic slice of organic house that captivates with a string-laden break before dropping down into a rhythmic second half. The EP’s title track is a silky sunset cut resplendent with twinkling pads that has enough groove to seduce a dusty dancefloor. ‘Vida’ begins life as a slinky percussive jam, before the dam breaks and a colourful river of melody drives the track home. As a crucial figure in the history of the thriving Irish dance scene, and a favorite of the When We Dip team since their early formation in Dublin, Ian O’Donovan is an artist innately connected to the XYZ label. Through an illustrious career, he’s presented his unique blend of uplifting productions on behemoths such as Bedrock and Suara.

For an artist like O’Donovan, long form collections such as the recent Still Waters album provides a refreshed insight into the Irishman’s studio character in 2020. Still Waters masterfully touches upon deep & melodic tones, while also propelling us into techno-oriented fields throughout the project.

Continuing the LP’s journey, we proudly present four remixes from across the electronic landscape. Given the diverse nature of the original material, it’s only right that the remixes are equally as eclectic.

Karim Sahraoui leads the EP as he connects with Sentient City. His illustrious career has seen releases on the likes of R&S, Transmat, Cocoon, and Compost. Karim’s melodic techno and groove-driven arrangements reflect O’Donovan’s production style, and his remix of Sentient City lengthens the arrangement while adding a touch of melancholic euphoria via the original strings.
