Frenchman Leohnart makes a highly anticipated return in what is his debut on XYZ’s SOL imprint. The Montreal-based artist brings his signature introspective touch to the label with a sumptuous four-tracker. ‘One Day’ leads the EP, offering up a deep journey, which fuses tribal rhythms, delicate atmospheric touches and an emotive, entrancing synth-line.

‘Evolution’ expands on the ethereal feel with beautifully textured synth work and lush chords, building slowly with soothing atmosphere and a similarly captivating ambiance.

‘Rise & Fall’ takes a fresh turn, contrasting hope and eery tension in a beautiful arpeggiated melody that evolves throughout the track, offering up a vibrant trip to new lands.

Closing out the EP on an optimistic note is ‘Around Me’, which once again showcases sublime rhythms and intricate melodies in an uplifting finish to the release.

'The music project Na'é emerged out of the boredom and quietness that came with the lockdowns in late 2020 and the need to bring musical ideas into reality. By weaving sound recordings from everyday life, violin, accordion, piano, vocals and of course electronic production in Ableton Live, Na’é creates smooth electronic pieces which are suitable both for dancing and studying. As a compulsive backpacker and anthropology graduate, the musical genres collected during her travels can definitely be heard in her music. Na’é’s first EP Wave Motion was released independently in March 2021. From then until July of that year she produced her 9-track album Anima which will be released under the Music.art.ppl label in 2022.'

Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before.

The Huli are believed to have laid down roots in Papua New Guinea as far back as 45,000 years ago. Most of the Huli people are from the town of Tari, and many still live according to the traditional ways. “The Huli men are famous for their unique custom of creating and wearing impressive wigs decorated with feathers. They also wear bright facial paint in red, yellow and white — colors originally chosen to strike fear into their enemy in times of conflict. Nowadays, they usually wear them to sing and dance.”. The so-called Wigmen make their wigs out of their own hair and weave them with feathers from the island’s 700 bird species. Each feather carries its own symbolic meaning (such as strength and courage). “The forest in which we live is essential to us. It provides for all our needs, it is sacred, and I would do anything in my power to protect it,” writes Mundiya Kepanga, a 53-year-old Huli Wigman, “I hope that by helping people to better understand my culture, they will also respect our environment.”                                                                                                                    This is the new Shango Records compilation entitled “A Wigmen Town Called Tari”. This year we are celebrating the 15th anniversary of our label and on
this occasion we have prepared several releases under the name "15 Years
of Exotic".

Chapter 2 of the series comes with another four fresh remixes of tracks
that have been released in recent years on Exotic Refreshment and Exotic
Refreshment LTD.

Sampler starts with a new mesmerizing Matija & Richard Elcox Remix of
Manucho's "The Fire Whisperer", in which Matija and Rich used a fragment
of the narrative from the movie 'Oshkigin Spirit of Fire'. In this place
we would like to thank the people at Dovetail Partners and all those
