The rising Boston-based duo Warung arrive on XYZ with their first full EP on the imprint, following their collaboration with Enamour on one of the imprint’s most essential tracks - Forget Your Name. With releases flowing on Anjunadeep, Street Tracks, and Gorgon City’s Realm Records, Warung has caught the ear of global tastemakers with a distinct blend of organic groove and progressive tones. We’re thrilled to welcome them back to XYZ in full with the Shrine EP.

The project’s namesake - Shrine - opens with a rich percussion & a playful kick, propelling us into lock step right from the off. Vocal chops flutter throughout the background in the early stages, as the drum-laden arrangement elevates in energy. Ominous bass throbs rise in tension as the track progresses, ensuring excellence in club settings with a touch of piano providing instrumental flavor. The vocal’s influence widens, and spoken word hooks the ear on an incredible A-side to get us going.

En El Amor welcomes more synthetic tones into the fold throughout a slow-burning yet exhaltive groove. The hook never relents, pushing dancers deep into the guise of lush rises & balanced organic influence. 'As 2022 draws to a close, Purified Records delivers a new selection of melodic gems in its latest VA compilation – Purified Fragments XIII. Opening with their instrumental cut ‘Wind’, German production outfit Diode Eins make their label debut. Floating across a laidback arrangement, the producers combine undulating synths, shuffling percussion and bold instrumentals to enter a mystical realm. Namatjira teams up with Jelle van Leeuwen for a delicate and blissful offering ‘Reminiscent’, where the producers devise a stunning instrumental arrangement with a timeless feel. 

Frankfurt-based artist Paraframe closeses out the compilation with ‘Euphoria’. Building a hypnotic soundscape with staccato notes and raw bass, the track turns with a mesmerising drop that will keep listeners hooked across its duration.'

Mitch Oliver debuts on Sirin Music with “Nothing Was Left“ EP. The rising producer and sound engineer has established a reputation for his personalized blend of deep emotive grooves. You can find Kindisch, Hoomidas Records, When We Dip XYZ and other labels as part of the artist’s back catalogue.

“I wrote this EP in the Spring of 2022 with the goal in mind to write music that would better fit into my DJ sets”, Mitch says. “I’ve been very inspired lately by the raw yet mesmerizing grooves found in minimal and deep tech and wanted to explore that sound a little more while still incorporating my go-to melodic touch.

The track “Can’t Help Myself” started with that simple yet very effective groove, primarily focusing on the drums and the bass and sub-bass. I then met Andrea de Tour, who has such an amazing voice and understanding of underground music. She is a great DJ and has great taste and deep knowledge of electronic music, which really helped the creative process to come up with a song that would have the sensuality of a classic house with a deeper and more profound groove. I’m extremely grateful we met and super excited about the result of our collaboration.

“Nothing Was Left” came to life when I started to jam with this mid-bass synth and came up with a very hypnotic yet catchy rhythmic melody. Some tracks come to life faster than others and this one took only a few sessions as I quickly felt the right emotions and didn’t overthink the process and simply let it all out. It has a dark and uplifting energy at the same time and has been doing very well in my DJ sets over the past few months. The voice sample gave me the extra spark I was looking for to wrap the idea, and It solidified the colour I was aiming at while composing the song”.
