The rising Boston-based duo Warung arrive on XYZ with their first full EP on the imprint, following their collaboration with Enamour on one of the imprint’s most essential tracks - Forget Your Name. With releases flowing on Anjunadeep, Street Tracks, and Gorgon City’s Realm Records, Warung has caught the ear of global tastemakers with a distinct blend of organic groove and progressive tones. We’re thrilled to welcome them back to XYZ in full with the Shrine EP.

The project’s namesake - Shrine - opens with a rich percussion & a playful kick, propelling us into lock step right from the off. Vocal chops flutter throughout the background in the early stages, as the drum-laden arrangement elevates in energy. Ominous bass throbs rise in tension as the track progresses, ensuring excellence in club settings with a touch of piano providing instrumental flavor. The vocal’s influence widens, and spoken word hooks the ear on an incredible A-side to get us going.

En El Amor welcomes more synthetic tones into the fold throughout a slow-burning yet exhaltive groove. The hook never relents, pushing dancers deep into the guise of lush rises & balanced organic influence. A tune that’s sure to cut its chops next to the finest work from the likes of &Me and Rampa in the near future.

Emerging onto the global electronic music scene, French duo Himszlow mark their arrival with an enchanting EP titled "Phenomenon," now available on the esteemed Dear Deer Music label. This release unveils their unique take on organic and melodic house, showcasing their musical prowess and innovative approach. The "Phenomenon" EP comprises two original tracks that beautifully capture Himszlow's signature style. "Galago" leads listeners on a captivating journey through intricate soundscapes, inviting them to immerse themselves in a world of rhythmic textures and evocative melodies. "Prayer" follows suit, offering a blend of ethereal harmonies and soulful vibes that resonate deeply. To elevate the experience even further, the release includes exceptional remixes from the renowned Ten Walls and the talented Betoko. Ten Walls breathes new life into "Galago" with his atmospheric and intricate reimagining, while Betoko takes "Prayer" to new heights with his hypnotic and rhythmic interpretation. Himszlow's journey into the music realm began in the early 2000s as a DJ during the dawn of the minimal techno movement. With a residency at some of Paris's premier clubs, they found themselves in the company of leading figures in the emerging minimal scene. However, the allure of production eventually beckoned. Over two decades of experimentation, they have honed a distinctive sound – a raw and hypnotic electronic resonance that veers off the conventional path. In 2022, Himszlow underwent a transformative shift as Ben, one half of the duo, fully integrated Antoine, his former DJ partner, into the creative process. From initially collaborating as arrangers on multiple projects, they have now embraced a complete synthesis of their musical sensibilities. Today, as a powerful duo, Himszlow embarks on an exciting journey to an elevated realm of production that transcends artistic boundaries. "Phenomenon" EP is a testament to Himszlow's ability to craft compelling narratives through their music. It's an invitation to explore their sonic world, where the organic and melodic converge in harmonious synergy. With remixes from legends Ten Walls and Betoko, this release exemplifies Himszlow's commitment to pushing boundaries and captivating audiences. With the anticipated unveiling of the inaugural release on his Vivrant imprint entitled the ’Taiga’ EP, Jeremy gives the public a sneak peek into his sonic treasure chest. Filled to the brim with a seemingly infinite number of unreleased gems, his music has at last found a place to call home.

Accompanied by a graphical profile and artwork created in collaboration with multi-award winning creative studio Rebels Studios, the EP conceptually resembles a mini-album. Made up of a total of four tracks with the first and last offerings, ‘Taiga’ and ‘Falls’, taking on the roles of proverbial set opener and closer. Played for the first time in Jeremy’s Group Therapy Radio guest mix, ‘Taiga’ is dark, thumping and hypnotic, while ‘Falls’, a new never before heard creation, is soft, dreamy and uplifting.

Second and third on the EP is ‘Pinkerton’ and ‘Roots’. While vastly different, they have a common denominator in being sophisticated, sure-fire peak time weapons. ‘Roots’ is energetic and soaring, while ‘Pinkerton’, made famous by the Olander and Prydz B2B BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix from earlier this year, has an infectious, trembling trademark Olander lead and a sawtooth bass-line your ancestors will feel.

In a time when the artform of curating an EP is on life support in favour of the more chart friendly single format, the ‘Taiga’ EP restores faith. Unlike anything you’re likely to hear from anyone else, it paints a positive picture of the future of innovative dance music.
