I was going through an old computer that hadn't been used since August 2007 and found a whole podcast episode featuring interviews by someone named "Joe's Podhole" or something and featuring a couple tracks from BTBAM's Anatomy Of covers album. I edited all the non-BTBAM portions out (and the songs) for a more concise edit of the interview.

Considering how White Walls (and BTBAM's entire career from then on) was decidedly in opposition to Ozzfest and all that it represented, it's really interesting to hear this interview because indeed the whole atmosphere that the podcast guy was projecting was really raunchy and off-putting, so tasteless. The BTBAM guys were kind of awkwardly playing along but there were cringe moments that they couldn't even mask their secondhand embarrassment from, it's like The Office or something.

Anyway, listening back on this, I can totally see why BTBAM felt such a strong aversion to Ozzfest-ish type people and attitudes in the years leading up to when they wrote White Walls and Colors. The rest is history.

In 2007 I wanted to write a progressive album with the name We Will Find Art Again, inspired by lyrics from Between The Buried and Me's song Roboturner. Now in 2021 I'm just using this Soundcloud account to upload an old BTBAM interview I found on my old computer that hadn't been used since 2007.
