"Scarborough Fair" is a traditional English folk song that came up probably in the 16th or 17th century. Scarborough was an important trading place for English merchants. The "Scarborough Fair" disappeared in the 19th century,  and under that title a music festival takes place every year in September. It's a love song that describes how a man claims his beloved to fulfill impossible things. For example she shall wash a shirt in a dried out fountain.

Dieser Vogel ist ein Symbol für diejenigen, die trotz widriger Umstände weitermachen und sich nicht fürchten. Oft fragen wir uns, welchen Sinn das Leben hat. Vielleicht hat es gar keinen, vielleicht ist es selber Sinn. Manchmal hilft es einfach durchzuhalten und etwas durch zu ziehen. Augen zu und durch!

Vor kurzem entdeckte ich einen alten Song wieder, den ich 2004 zusammen mit meinem Freund Björn live aufgenommen hatte. Grundlage ist mein gleichnamiges Gedicht "Pech". So entstand ein berührender Depri-Song! Björn spielte das Bass-Riff, ich erledigte den Rest.

Recently I rediscovered a song, that my friend Björn and me had recorded live in 2004. The base was my poem named "Pech" in German - what means "misfortune". So an affecting song thematizing depression was created. Björn is playing the bass-riff, while I settled the rest.

HitchHiking

I chose the name "WwoollfF" to get an unique "trademark" of music. Also I liked the metaphor of the wolf - an animal that is known for his individuality on the one hand and his living in a social group on the other hand.

My practical experience in music is as comprehensive as my musical work. I played in serval bands (Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Dance) the guitar, the bass, the saxophone, and the flute. Mostly I was engaged as a singer, too. This diversity is mirrored in my songs. Sometimes I think myself as a wanderer between the worlds of genres. I am constantly swinging back and forth between a down-to-earth unplugged music and a stronger use of electronic instruments and effects.

As "WwoollfF" I've got to know the advantages of playing alone. On small events (like a vernissage) I play unplugged, using only my voice, my acoustic guitar and my blues-harps without amplification. Performing on great events (up to 2,000 persons) I make use of the benefits of modern electronic equipment.
