With the winter weather upon us, we learn about the effect of road salt on lakes, streams and ground water, as we here from Vicky Kelly of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, New York and author of Road Salt, the Problem the Solution and How to Get There, and we also here from Robert Wyant, the highway superintendent for Rhinebeck, New York, and Larry Marsicano, a professor at Western Connecticut State University and former head of The Candlewood Lake Authority, as they talk at a Lakes Symposium held at WCSU
