Track 2 on Original Hifi’s 1996 essentially live reggae studio album, ‘Chili Dubs’.

Original Hifi was a one-off alter ego of Emperor Sly featuring Sarah Davis (keyboards), Rod Lambert (special effects), Stu Lambert (guitar, keyboards) and me (bass) along with sessional player Bugsy (drums) and Barbara Snow & Chris Lawrence (brass). The album was recorded pretty much full-on live by Dare Mason at Moody Studios, London and then mixed at Moody and AreWeMad, London. Dubs versions include Mad Professor, Armageddon and Dougie at Conscious Sounds.

Track 5 from Life Support Systems’ unreleased 1997 EP, ‘Catharsis’.

Life Support Systems was a rare, solo studio project fusing hard techno and big beat with acid synths, industrial noise and the odd splash of dub FX - intended for Zip Dog’s acid-techno sister label, Dog Bone Records, which in the end only ever released a single vinyl 12” - ‘Killa Wipers’ by Tasha Killer Pussies.

While the project was essentially a creative purging and emotional release after 10 years of bass playing with the Emperor Sly crew, these tracks definitely have their moments. Recently found on an old MiniDisk they have since been digitally captured and heavily Waves L3 MultiMaximised.

I met Adam Hoyle aka Atom Oil in the mid 90s through the Music Project at Heatham House Youth Centre in Twickenham, UK while I was Music Worker and he was a student at the local 6th form college. We stayed in touch and subsequently collaborated on a number of projects including The iRiealists, Dublab All Stars and The Sancho Plan. This is a mix of a drum n’ bass track written and arranged by Adam and subsequently produced by me around 1997.

The late 90s saw several collaborations, remixes and productions with and for musicians I'd connected with through my time co-running Zip Dog Records. 'Prodical meets…’ is a collation of those studio workouts that were a cut above the rest.

A live jam mainly with a setup of a Yamaha RS7000 and a Yamaha MT100. The main Sequences are running on the RS7000 also the MIDI - sequencing for the MB33.

I used the Yamaha MT100 cassette multitracker as an instrument with recordings of drones / pads on the 4 channels also theres a Behringer Echo Machine connected as a send/return effect.

The MIDI controller is used to control the expression parameter (CC11) on every channel of the RS7000.

A live jam mainly with a setup of a Yamaha RS7000, Volca Sample and a Yamaha MT100. The main Sequences are running on the RS7000 also the MIDI - sequencing for the MB33.

I used the Yamaha MT100 cassette multitracker as an instrument with recordings of drones / pads on the 4 channels also theres a Behringer Echo Machine connected as a send/return effect. The Volca Sample  is used to create one drone/pad with motion sequence.

The MIDI controller is used to control the expression parameter (CC11) on every channel of the RS7000.
