hi here's some music i made on my computer!!

for this music i recorded myself playing the SATB of a re-structured choral on a fifty-cent melodica with an Oktava MK012 (mono) and the internal mics of a Tascam DR-40 (stereo) in the attic-floor of my house. Also recorded one small and one large triangle. Mixed the recordings together in reaper, doubled some voices with shifted pitch.

Kittens (midi lounge series ~2012)

This music is based on the melody of the song "Wenn ich ein Vöglein wär'...". I wrote a Bachian choral from the melody, then bracketed each measure to be reinterpreted as a long, swelling exhale, within which the three, upper voices together yet asynchronously loop that measure's fragmented, melodic contents above a slow, forward-moving bass line. The audio is a composite of recordings that talented musician colleagues and friends of mine made of themselves playing to the bass line -- way back in Spring at the beginning of the Covid lock-downs.
