Benton Harbor native, L. C. Cooper Jr was born in 1991. When he was 5, L. C. began recording his vocals into a old black 1998 cassette player that his grandmother had laying around the house. Most of his recordings were him covering his favorite artist, while the rest consisted of him talking about the challenges he faced while being raised in the ghettos of Benton Harbor, MI.  While attending Pullman elementary in 1999, L. C. was one of 5 winners of the young author awards, -a national writing competition for fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry-. L. C. is currently attending Grand Rapids Community College where  he is involved in Alpha Beta Omega (ABO). ABO - is a society dedicated to providing young scholars with relational, educational, and cultural experiences that will instill the leadership qualities necessary to effectively serve our local, national, and global community. Looking to create  a larger impact in his new local community, L. C.  crept onto the the poetry scene by the way of The Drunken Retort located in Grand Rapids MI, July of 2015. His ability to infuse rap, challenges from his personal life,  and political messages makes him entertaining, lovable and authentic.
