Brett return with astral lead single, "Claire Drained," and news of their sophomore album, Mode. Across the record's 10 tracks, Brett's songwriting magic is undeniable. Pop jams come to life in 3D, swirling the senses and putting the mind into motion.

Unlike previous material, Mode inspirations are diverse, owing more to multimedia art than romance, namely Jean-Luc Godard’s recent film, Goodbye to Language. “The defining quote for me was: ‘For women, it's only sex and death. For men, it's only infinity and zeroes,’” said vocalist Mick Coogan. “It’s a fairly opaque statement, but I think the irony lies in assigning absolutes to human relationships, which can be so beautiful and inspiring. At the same time, the fundamental differences between men and women are very real and that shit is difficult to figure out.” In a more abstract way, the light installations of James Turrell also influenced the musical contours of the album. 

The album’s art was created as a large-scale painting by LA artist, Charley Alexander, using abstracted patterns, shapes and color scales, and then cut into 50 squares, each of which will be sold with limited edition pre-order copies of the vinyl record.

Inspired by frontman Andy Sorge’s home state of Wyoming, and guitarist Scott McKay Gibson’s favorite refuge, WYO makes cinematic music influenced by nature’s strength and resilience. Kindled by passion and tension, the songs are an honest look at love and loss, and the soul-searching and clarity that emerges in the space between. Within the melodies and lyrics are celebratory reminders of the beauty and magic all around us, and nature’s unwavering ability to bring us back to ourselves. WYO’s third album Gemini drops Fall 2023.

WYO has shared stages with: Robert Earl Keen, Avi Buffalo, The Fruit Bats and many more. Their sound has lead them to play at venues like Griffith Park for Eat See Hear Festival, SXSW, LACMA, Kaaboo Festival, Jam in the Van, School Night LA headliner.
