In the summer of 2013, Above & Beyond performed some of their best-loved songs acoustically as part of a 15-piece band, across four sold out shows at London's famous Porchester Hall which formed the basis of the "Above & Beyond Acoustic" studio album. The album was recorded in the spring and summer of 2013 and features a 24-piece orchestra.

"The acoustic project is a reconnection with the musicians that we were before we met", said Above & Beyond's Tony McGuinness. "The songs have been on an interesting journey to get here because we tend to write in a fairly acoustic way anyway. We don't just stick a bit of vocal over a dance track - that's not how we work. We try to start with a song and it's usually only later down the line that we take certain elements from that song and progress them into a more dancefloor-friendly version".

With Above & Beyond "Acoustic", the group are putting aside their CDJs and lighting rigs to showcase their deeply-rooted musicianship and classical training. A band first and foremost, Above & Beyond are songwriters as much as they are DJs. Working with three singers, a string quartet, harpist, drummer and bassist, Above & Beyond are pushing the boundaries of dance music. Tony McGuinness sings and plays guitar, mandolin and ukulele, Paavo Siljamäki plays the grand piano and cello, and Jono Grant plays the Rhodes piano, guitar and vibraphone.

Above & Beyond - Satellite / Stealing Time (Acoustic)

Niall Mannion aka Mano Le Tough is set to release his first record on Pampa this 3rd of November, entitled "Ahsure". The 3 track EP sees the Irish producer showcase his unique ability to combine dance floor rhythms with visceral vocal based songs. The result of which is a piece of work that will find a comfortable home in a variety of settings. While this method has become the hallmark of Mano's discography, "Ahsure" feels like some of his most honest and accomplished work to date.
The A-side, "Your heavy head" is the most dance floor focused track of the EP. Mano combines crisp, live sounding percussion with various intertwining synth lines and bell chimes, establishing a gentle yet pulsating groove. His vocals compliment the instrumentation, telling a simple story via an array of disorientating effects. 
"Kitedub" on the flip settles neatly somewhere between modern house music and weirdo pop. Mano's stirring vocals make up the centerpiece of the track, as strange sounds swell and subside - all the time kept in check with sharp staccato drums. 
The title track rounds off the record in beautiful fashion. Penned just after the birth of his daughter, "Ahsure" hears Mano's lyrics sit above swirling ambient sounds and they convey a raw honesty that is palpable.

Like a Huckleberry Finn, hopping through the world on one leg – a native alien, a familiar stranger. A cosmonaut, floating in weightless orbits from capsule to capsule. With playful lightheartedness, Wruhme takes synthetic sounds and sampled noises, cuts them to fit, and turns them into beats without his music ever sounding pieced together: every single percussive sound is a compact unit, always bursting with melody, or at least pointing the way towards it. For Venq Tolep, his first album-length release on Pampa Records in eight years, this is exactly where Robag Wruhme chooses to dig deeper, expanding the space of these elements. He finds beats inside the beats, opens them up even further, discovers hooklines and harmonies and feels where he can ultimately dispense with rhythms entirely.
