Comprised of thirty-six tracks, the score is written in a pseudo-FM mold, and spans a production of over fifteen years. What you hear here is the introduction/prologue track, which establishes two of the main melodic motifs.

Time Trials approached me about creating visuals for the kind of wildlife that lives under the lilypad. I created a short visual using a painting I made, animating it in pieces and compiling it in After Effects. The animation was specifically commissioned for the livestream of STAFFcirc volume 10.
STAFFcirc is a music label I have followed for years. Collaborating with one of their newest members was an amazing experience for me. I aimed to make the video peaceful and relaxing, but also cute and fun.

I really wanted to hit a froggy vibe for my first STAFFcirc submission, so the central motif I built this track around is a variation of a coqui call that I created with my SoundCanvas. I also figured this was a good excuse to finally use my frog-shaped guiro, so I recorded some live guiro for the first time ever. Other live elements include some acoustic guitar and shaker that I recorded. Other than that there is plenty of rompler shenanigans.

There is also a sample of my dog Charlie barking, that's not frog-related but it felt very fun and percussive and brought a bit of a Rhythm Heaven energy to the track, a series that I adore. I hope you enjoy!

I'm focusing on what I want instead of what I lack

if frogs had anniversaries
the celebrations would be cursory
when every day is leap day
there's no time to ponder history
our closeness comes in second
to the space from here to there, you see
no frettin bout the journey cause the destination's first to me

I've always heard that frogs are meant to travel light
how can you see what's comin up in front of you

but when I start lookin back
I remember all the times he tried to set me back on track
let's stay together one more year, it might not be so bad

when frogs have anniversaries
they say the celebrations should be cursory
but we intend to celebrate our friendship
even though it may be controversary
a frog and toad in harmony
can stand up to the greatest frog adversity
despite it all we'll have a tiny froggy anniversary

We started this track back in January 2025 and finished in June. We decided to go with an 'anything goes' approach, trading midi files back and forth and building upon each other. Ended up rendering my project for the final product using SNES soundchip emulator C700 and a mix of rompler plugins (Roland MT-32, MSGS, Sound Canvas, JV-1080). It was very, very fun for one of my first full-on collabs and I learned so much.

Want to give my thanks and appreciation to STAFFcirc as a whole. From being an avid SoundCloud listener of this sphere of music many years ago to participating within it now, I feel quite happy and in slight disbelief, haha. Thank you once again.
