A song about the kind of people you fall in with sometimes, usually when you're in between smarts and stupids, and get really really lucky. And always in times of radical transition taking place around you, it turns out. Knowing you have no solid place to rest, and building an emotional vocabulary on that premise can be a good thing. I think they call that survival instinct.
