SPECIES -HOMAGE TO TIM SCHULDT

The notorious Tim Schuldt had an enormous influence on the entire Psychedelic Trance music scene. With his single called ANIMATRONIC, released back in 1997 on Matsuri Rec, he changed Goa Trance into Psychedelic Trance. Tim Schuldt left us a great legacy of many heavyweight tracks played around the globe for many years by the greatest psytrance DJs of all time. In this Zeitgeist, where music kinda lost that unique spark called “the storytelling”, the Belgrade psytrance apex predator DJ Aki aka SPECIES was awakened. The idea to retell the story of Tim Schudlt masterpiece craft, ignite the inspiration and fueled the energy for a long-anticipated comeback. His new double EP, entitled “HOMAGE TO TIM SCHULDT” has thus crash-landed into Canadian reputable psytrance label – TECHSAFARI RECORDS.

OHM SHIVA – It is one of the most haunting musical interpretations of the supreme Lord Shiva who creates, protects, and transforms the universe. The track manifests some kind of awe towards the deity. It is cold & heavy, like some kind of mechanical structure – frightening & divine at the same time. This nocturnal piece is made to be played under the endless dark sky covered by a billion stars. “Ohm Shiva” is not just a heavy-hitting weapon of choice for clubs and festivals - it is an homage to the immortal pantheon of the psychedelic trance spirit, which continues to live on through the prism of the new SPECIES productions.

FILE DAMAGE – There is no doubt that this is one of the most epic psychedelic trance track of all time. Its atmosphere, permeated with deviant harmonies, deserves to be carried through time so that such a masterpiece would not be forgotten. Aki Species took on the honor and the opportunity to pass that one piece of Tim’s genius to our new generations and connect them with the deep emotion of this new age psychedelic Odyssey. If Ohm Shiva is cold as ice, File Damage is Phoenix rising from the depths of the underworld. It is an absolute ace made to be played between dusk and dawn, where the night sky bursts under the first rays of the sun. This 138bpm stomper evokes the past via recognizable & profound atmospheres, simultaneously conjuring up the future with its majestic bassline & hypnotic leads.
