This is a song about my mind going in so many places and directions. Sometimes i’ll be in such a great mood and state of mind then all of a sudden become very melancholy then very angry, and transition back into that beautiful, inspiring, optimistic mindset. This track really represents all of those states of mind in order. From the sad to the anger to the beauty; this track will represents the twists and turns of my mental. It shows that there’s beauty in the times where you go through the hardest moments because you always come back stronger; kind of like a Super Saiyan haha. You come back stronger from every fight that is fought.

Insanity

When making this song I didn’t know what I wanted it to be really or the direction; I had just opened up my DAW and started playing around with this beautiful sound on my piano and decided to just record what I play. No quantization or structure in mind at first I just played how I felt and wanted to make myself feel chills and nostalgia. Instead of doing crazy layering or a crazy bass drop I thought it’d be nice to have a stripped down song easy to get lost in and just enjoy without any crazy technical sound design. After I added the second part with the drums and finished the song I decided to leave it as is and like I said it’s very stripped down and simple but it still made me feel so much, and now I catch myself enjoying minimalism rather than over layering or compensating in every aspect of my life. Instead of having too much to focus on why not have stand out pieces in your home, or those few pieces of clothing in your closet that fit whatever the occasion. Same thing with this song; having something bare and very sounds allowed me to concentrate on the “feeling” and that’s why I called it minimalism.

Minimalism

Wow this song has to be some of the most emotion I’ve put into anything without any lyrics or me singing. This song says it all without saying a word. I made this song and finished it on Christmas day and I don’t know what it was but I felt so optimistic and inspired and just had started creating off of that feeling. After creating off of that feeling I created the chords in the second half which has to be some of the most beautiful writing i’ve had to date and built the song around that. I watch sooooo much anime and I had recently gotten into my hero academia before I wrote this song and so after the chord structure was created it reminded me so much of one of those scenes where the protagonist unlocks a power that slumbered in them in a last effort to defeat the antagonist and I wanted the whole song to build up to that feeling of heroism and awakening that power within. Making this song I definitely tapped into a part of my creativity and expression I never have before and this song is just a representation of the idealism of a character awakening but also an awakening within me at that time.

Awakening

This is a super chill track that I've actually been sitting on for a few years now. I'm a big fan of music that's super nostalgic and based around a slow-burning journey. That's what this tune is all about.

Shoutout to Koo for laying down such a cool sounding vocal and allowing me to mangle the hell out of it. I think it's pretty neat that everybody seems to hear different lyrics in this.

Also major shoutout to my good friend Nick (Varien) who pushed me to release this song. He's usually got a link to a lot my unreleased songs and he hears a lot of material that never sees the light of day. This was one in particular that he's always been super adamant about getting released.
