Hailing from the South London Music scene XAPHANIA winds between sonic productions, abstract audio-visual pieces and fluid DJ mixes of straight grooves. Their explorative sound collages are bound together with field recordings, spoken word and haunting vocalisation. All while referencing her folk foundations, XAPHANIA’s works are interlaced with glitches and mechanical disruption to forge rich, atmospheric soundscapes of allusive contemplation. To dissipate the tension of these reflective spaces, XAPHANIA leans towards DJ mixes that strictly encourage the expression of movement. She hops, skips and jumps across genres to ensure everyone desires a dance.
