Dear BARELY ALIVE,
I love you, you are my favorite artist. I started listening to your tracks when my life was getting better and better. You inspired me, you planted in my head the seed of desire to produce my own tracks, and when I started, I watched your tutorials.
Every. Single. One.
You taught me so much. I really discovered dubstep and music production thanks to you. I have so many memories tied to your tracks, every single one, and I have to confess: never has an artist made me feel and love music this deeply. I’m serious.
But unfortunately, you decided to change your way.

The 80’s are over.
The unique and advanced sound design is over.
The trackwriting I aspired to, is over.

All these years passed, with so many masterpieces, Feel The Panic, Computer Love, Multiplayer, Casket Case, Disciple Alliance/Round Table, Lost In Time, Odyssey and many more, I feel like you destroyed everything.
You can change your style, no problem. I talked with people who used to listen to you and knew you for your unique style, and everyone gave me the same answer.
The problem isn’t that it’s bad. The problem is that it’s void.
Empty of emotions, empty of technique, empty of originality. And I know you can do so, so much better. Honestly, it makes me so sad to see things turn out this way.
The main problem is that your tracks... are forgettable. That’s a fact.

The Barely Alive we knew, is Almost Dead.

So after 3 years of producing, here is my tribute, my love letter to my favorite artists, or rather my favorite duo, Matt and Willie aka BARELY ALIVE. I’m happy I lived to hear your music. You’ll always be in my heart.
