The EP starts with the title track "Erlking". Named after the very dark and mystic king of the elves, this track is a heavy hitting beast. The rolling drum pattern sounds like a horses' gallop, accompanied by striking bass synth shots and signature Avidus effects and details. Then the lead comes in almost narrating a story of being chased by the king. After some rave moments the main break is happening and in a trademark Avidus' manner the harmonies and lead combine into a symphonic progression. After the drop, no more words are needed.

In her remix of the title track rising talent Nina Hepburn from Hamburg takes the lead of Avidus and adds a deeper drum kit, giving it a more elegant and progressive overall vibe. With some more melodic lines and a rolling baseline this remix is a beautiful alternative to the original.

On the "flipside" of the EP, the original named "We Know" is a next chapter when it comes to the deeper works of Avidus. A percussive drum kit with broken beats lead the way, then the emotional chord progressions come in. After some carefully selected arpeggios, emotional vocals come in and complete the song also giving it its title.

Then things get crazy with the remix work of mastermind producer and renowned Oddity labelhead Fur Coat, who takes the vocals and parts of the harmonies and transforms the deep original into a banger of a track, ready to smash dancefloors apart.

Back in full swing, Light My Fire fuels the flame of its recent rebirth with a hot new single delivery from Berlin-based DJ and producer, Deckert. Already part of the Stil vor Talent family for which he has released a couple of well-received EPs over the years, Deckert turns in the compelling 'Fiesta Forever', a two-track slab of polyamorous electronics, sitting at the junction of exotica, house, EBM and alternative pop. Quite eloquently named, the title-track offers a no-nonsense momentum of swaying rhythms, woodblocks, birdsongs and sizzling synthlines, all set at transforming the club into a mystic forest of sorts. A languid voice emerges from beyond Deckert's dense, leafy sound design, calling us for a round of ecstatic communion on the dance floor as the machines rev up towards higher raving spheres. The second cut, "World Outside", morphs from a Cure-esque new wave ballad in its introduction, into a full-blown bassy techno affair around the 1:30 mark. Traversed by an empowering sense of energy and positiveness which overcomes the slow-burning nostalgia of its vocals, the track has that perfect balance between emotion and dynamism you can not help but to project onto the canvas of your mind as a potent contender for soundtrack of your next road-trip this summer?
