cover of beatles track from revolver. always been one of xe la's favorite songs. sampled the beat n the sitar straight of the original recording. looped it and layered electric guitars & bass onto the DROID....the name of cellphone studio xe la has been recording with. put the vocals down and wallah....a freshly baked stoner track.

this one took a bit. every now and then a songwriter has to play with himself....and this joint is just that....hahahaha. xe la first laid down an acoustic track that was just a few chords but played dynamically and built the piece from there. bass and two electric guitars....the drums took forever cuz they came last. all in all xe la's really happy with this one. all recorded at home on theDROID.....just sayin...a love song about the mind and how love works for some n maybe not for others....but shit happens.

12345...678910...11 12....might remember the pinball 12 count from sesame street in the 70's thru 80's originally performed by the pointer sisters in their early career. always loved the jam. looped an instrumental segment then add some samples of the who's pinball wizard ....spice it up with a sample of street beater by quincy jones made popular by the show sanford and son. then a dialogue between mike n moe...in a adult cartoon called heavy traffic. directed by ralph baski. the outcome a triphop down 70's streetlife lane. funky n raw.

one man's trash is  another mans treasure....a slide blues piece recorded into the droid at xe la's lab at home. with samples of bill hicks on a public access show a few months before he passed away. 

1st world problems

somthin of a dirty ditty..... jammed a keyboard beat by switching the rhythmns manually and random. laid down a berry white meets bill withers bass & guitar arrangement.... cheesed out with soul sounds of a more candidly graphic nature....ooooh yeah baby. the vocals were the last of it n sampled are the drunken babble of stimmy mayhem and a sample of some porn off the inter webs....yumMEH! BTW.... its not really 11 mins long. when i master the record i plan to edit it properly....sorry about that.

composed on the samsung droid app jftmultitracker ....sampled drums of stewart copland off of the song peanuts on outlandos d'mour ...xe la tracked an acoustic and electric rhythm guitars ...electric bass and lead guitars ....and set the vocals on top. this is the second attempt at this song and its true spirit hits  with the passion and abandon that the lyrical content indulges. done in one day by xe la'self.
