The eternal question with the fugue: Bach and others raised its perfection to such a pitch, how can we hope to add anything? But it's beauty is such that -- how can we not try. Your playing is very fine hear, as is Mr. Hunt's composition. I know nothing of him: but harmonically there is nothing here that says he could not be a contemporary of JSB. Can we -- or rather those like you, who clearly know the old form better, and from the inside, than I, adapt it to more modern harmonic conceptions? Well Widor tried. He didn't "fail" but his efforts don't move me like Bach's.

@user-994408151: For me, Hunt is very close to Bach: the scores look very similar, also quite simple at first glance, later on getting more and more complicated. And when you really start practicing, you'll make some surprising discoveries.
