Henning Schmiedt - Piano Miniatures
When playing the pieces from Piano Miniatures, I felt like I was back to my childhood.
I was back to the games of that time, how I made trees, horses, small locomotives, mini castles, and entire miniature cities from building blocks. It was so exciting to do it all myself. To be completely immersed in the game and to look at and design everything from above simultaneously.
That is still my ideal when playing the piano, and it is in this spirit I created my piano miniatures.
The fifteen titles are works in small format, music as if viewed under a microscope: small film scores, mini sonatas, songs, tiny symphonies.

🤍 Pappa is a track from our album Fyr, released October 14th via Whitelabrecs. Fyr is a collection of memories suspended in time. It is the overgrown park, the written word on the demolished building, the pulsating light of a dead star, the tiny fragments of color breaking through the concrete, the fear that love isn’t enough, the silence after the machines stopped. It is to save these places and people from fading into oblivion.

I've not been uploading as recently because I'm in my last year of University studying music and my major is composition, so a lot of my effort creatively is going into making that music. 

At the same time, I think I'm having writers block but it's slightly different than before.. in a way I'm not sure how to describe. I guess once I've finished my portfolio for University then I'll have more creative energy to focus here for you. I only have 6 months left until I graduate. It's quite exciting really, but it just means my uploads may be a little slower than usual. I hope you understand ^_^ 

Even so, this is a little improvisation I played which I called 'Lights'. 

I hope to upload another little piece before 2018 finishes though. 2018 has been a big year for Xeuphoria, so I want to say thank you properly to all of you.
