Waking up alone in the desert, I cast my gaze across the landscape. In the distance I see a trail of smoke, erupting from the cracked earth. As I step out of safety a thick wind wraps around me.
I take a breath but I choke on dust, I start walking into the emptiness.

As I approach the smoke I saw, a hole in the ground emerges, miles wide and miles deep, I see movement at the bottom. The walls of this crater are like that of tar, they appear to be dripping infinitely. At the bottom sits a darkened lake with ripples disturbing the surface, nothing below, I cant see through water, I look to the wall and see a creature.

Something with scales and spikes on it's tail, I'm hoping it hasn't seen me.

It's climbing seemingly forever. Escaping the hole. I know that it will take some time. But eventually it will be free.

It's snarling teeth, and sniffing nostrils will soon be searching for me. Though it's eyes haven't seen me, i know it's aware of my presence. 

Dark gaze. Searching forever, must I hide for eternity?
