Feel The Earth Spinning

All sounds come from the initial spoken phrase 'Why don't you stop' .. and roughly follow the shape of it's waveform for overall structure. The sounds at any particular point in the piece are generated by the associated lexeme in the vocal phrase using an Akai s950 hardware sampler and its built in editing routines.

Performed 'live' straight into the mixing desk via the separate outputs. Sequenced by Logic. Mastered onto cassette.

method: crave, voice, vt 4, reface dx, voice, r20, samplitude ... it's more or less in b locrian, I guess ... a fitting mode.
Narration: the original title is ‘70s synthesizer‘ in the cycle SONIC CASCADES (as published in A SINGLE LOOP OF FORTUNES). imagine a family in Western Germany. it‘s the 1970s and  conforming to strict norms is the latest rage wherever the youth invasion (o for the horrors of the 'gammler'!!!!) had to be fought off. I spent the decade (and more) going to school and trying to cope with fellow human beings …. and there still was this all encompassing being …..  the best mode of survival (at that age, at any age) was identification …..

There are links to XiiixxiQ below. Your mileage may vary as to whether it decides to work on your system or not. It only runs on a Mac because I really don't have time to do all the necessary work to make it compatible with anything other than my 2015 MacBook Pro :-(. It is still being developed (for my own use) and improved, and I may yet get round to doing another release if I can find the time to tidy it all up.
