Four Triangles focuses on sharing music from upcoming producers whose talents are limitless, but have never before shared their work with the world.
  
ASOK’s label is at it again on this third release, showcasing five tracks from Brighton-based Charles Green, best known as one of the resident DJs at one of the city’s most lauded clubs, Patterns. By tapping into his understanding of dancefloor dynamics and a lifelong passion for machine music, Green has delivered a debut that’s as assured as it is thrilling.

For proof, check opener “RDT#2”, an energy-packed techno club jam capable of rapturous responses from even the most sluggish of dancers. The track’s sheer power is astonishing, a feat achieved by Green’s devotion to layering heavy, reverb-soaked percussion hits atop a fearlessly fuzzy, sweat-soaked techno groove. It’s the sound of a thousand robot drummers rising up against their masters.

The South Coast producer’s love of action-packed drum jams is explored once more on partner piece “RDT#1”, a loose and surprisingly spacey composition whose intricate fills, rubbery changes of direction and mind altering drum machine cowbells are unashamedly intoxicating.

Green’s techno credentials are further enhanced by the warehouse-ready late night hypnotism of “X200”, where darting Motor City cymbal hits and wide-eyed, rave-era riffs buzz around a locked-in machine groove. Speaking of rave, the influence of that era’s breakbeat-fuelled dancefloor workouts can be heard on EP closer “Gamma Rays”, where deep space synth lines and intergalactic chords slip in and out of a punchy, all-action rhythm track that gleefully flits between snappy breakbeats and 4/4 jack.

After all this late night intensity, it feels fitting that Green has included a track that shows his more sedate side. Having slain dancefloors, he takes a well-earned breather via “Soul Figures”, an ambient composition that sees ricocheting, delay-laden percussion hits rise above swelling, Pete Namlook style electronics. Even at his most relaxed, Green can’t keep away from the drum machines.

Since the dawn of the Millennium, Claro Intelecto has beguiled listeners with his trademark brand of far-sighted electronic futurism – an atmospheric and otherworldly sound that reprocesses and repackages a multitude of influences drawn from three decades immersed in electronic music.

It seems fitting, then, that the latest Claro Intelecto outing – the first since the release of his Exhilirator album two years ago –was partly inspired by the formative years of the man behind the alias, Mark Stewart. Its’ title, “Forgotten Wasteland”, refers to the current state of the place where one of Manchester’s most influential underground clubs, the Thunderdome, once stood.

Stewart explores the impact and influence of this mythical club, and all that flowed from it, on EP opener “The Thunderdome”, a track whose industrial-strength beats, ragged acid lines, sci-fi bleeps and body-shaking sub-bass recall the raw and heavy techno music that emerged from the North of England in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. In contrast, the equally heavy and lo-fi “Sniffer Dogs” takes a more considered approach, with Stewart wrapping cinematic sweeps and dubbed-out electronics around a glitch-laden, Skam style experimental hip-hop groove.

On the flipside, Stewart begins with a far-sighted chunk of loose-limbed electro-techno fusion, “Messages”. Rhythmically punchy with the producer’s now familiar weighty analogue bass and raw riffs to the fore, the track’s fizzing melodic motifs and woozy pads recall hazy memories of sunrises spent stumbling between soundsystems at chilly free parties across the UK. The track’s increasing intensity is mirrored on EP closer “Sirens”, a druggy blast of rugged mid-tempo heaviness blessed with sun-bright blasts of synthesizer-driven bliss. It feels like a fittingly evocative conclusion to another standout outing from Claro Intelecto.

Deemphasis is a french producer specializing in electro, acid and vocoder.
Originally from northern france, deemphasis was influenced in the late 80s by german, english, detroit and belgian techno sounds. in the 90s, he is very involved in the "demoscene" and uses "sound-tracker" to make music. Nowadays, he always uses the same approach.
it was at this time that he settled in clermont-ferrand, in the early 2000s, he began to do some concerts and he turned gradually to electro.

In 2010, deemphasis released its first 12 "ep" synthetic cells "on the umwelt label, newflesh records. Then, several ep and his famous album "mechanical beats" on ukonx recordings.

In this ep, deemphasis explores some of the feelings one can encounter in a post-apocalyptic world.
The opening title "my empire" is clearly oriented towards the dance floor and features a surviving robotic voice in a hostile environment.
An acid base consolidates the melancholy atmosphere.
The remix of "my empire" by the french producer "the observer" is a journey with some hypnotizing effects, deep experience and ongoing melodies take will take you to a different dimension, sounds rythmic, mysterious and variable... this remix are like a poetical description of some non-human race or nature of another dimension....

The b side begins with the track "obsession", presenting a long journey in the darkness. The mechanical rhythm sounds like a dehumanized factory fighting against continuous pressure.
The ep ends with a touch of hope, looking for a « rebirth », contemplating the galaxy full of stars.
