With a wandering spirit and a penchant for both collecting and disseminating stories on their travels, PAAX (Tulum) take an approach to music that simultaneously instills a palpable sense of place while transcending the physical.

The duo's latest E.P., set to be released on Scorpios Music on August 18, is an exercise in sonic tension characterized by a plethora of organic percussive elements and arpeggiated shakers, flourishes of balafon, and impassioned lyricism in both Moroccan Arabic and Spanish by opera singer Romana. This concoction whisks the reader from Buenos Aires to Tulum — “the place where we get the energy to create music” — via a whistle-stop tour of the Middle East and Mykonos, with unlikely combinations of instruments making themselves heard before ducking away in between beats. 

Alma Clara, meaning "shiny soul", marks the duo’s third release on Scorpios Music and was made during a period of intense worldwide touring in early 2023.

Satin Jackets return to Eskimo Recordings with ‘We Can Talk’, featuring the majestic vocals of UK-based singer Emma Brammer and remixes by Moullinex and Larse. ‘We Can Talk’ is the first single from the upcoming Satin Jackets debut album.  

Original darlings of Belgium’s long standing Eskimo imprint, Satin Jackets announce their debut album with another unashamedly vocal pop anthem featuring Emma Brammer. “‘We Can Talk’ sets the pace for the upcoming album,” the duo explained, “the album itself will be diverse and versatile. Two years of our heart and soul poured into it so it’s going to be the full listening experience.”

 ‘We Can Talk’ is an enveloping record delivering classy piano melodies, crisp beats and a soaring vocal from Scottish Emma Brammer. Recently featured on BBC Radio, London based Brammer elevates the mood for the new year as she explains, “I was hooked on the track [from] the first time. The lyrics are about the exciting and painful first love - maybe it's not so good for you but it feels historical. Loved working with Tim - just good vibes and good tunes.”

This indelible record from Satin Jackets comes with a genre-crushing remix from Portuguese native and Munich-based Moullinex, one of the founders of Discotexas, familiar for stellar remixes of RAC and Röyksopp & Robyn. The package is completed by a stripped back dub version by German producer Larse, renowned for work on Defected and Noir.

Satin Jackets is the brainchild of German music producer Tim Bernhardt alongside lead performer Den Ishu. Their debut album is due for release this April on the Eskimo imprint, having spent the last year between the studio recording it and taking their eponymous live show through the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe, opening their fluid pop appeal and accessible four-to-the-floor groove up to the world at large.

The latest installment in the Crosstown Rebels release schedule sees Circus club resident James Organ make a standout debut on the label. Titled Secrets, the EP welcomes Spanish mainstay Dennis Cruz as remixer of the lead track.

“It was a real moment for me when Damian picked the EP up and signed it almost straight away. It’s been a very exciting time, and I’m incredibly proud to be releasing this record as my final EP of the year.” James Organ. The original of Secrets Feat. Pablo:Rita leads the charge, as dubby, minimal-laced melodies reside atop an infectious lead bassline, with Pablo:Rita’s soothing vocals completing the enchanting nature of the track. Dennis Cruz’s remix swiftly arrives and brings with it a darker flavour, as thick kicks converge on spacious hats to form a stripped-back, late-night club cut, before the mind-bending sounds of Moons Of Gaza rounds things off with a subtle acid-twinged backbone and warming key changes.

Liverpool’s James Organ has experienced a meteoric rise ever-since his residency at Merseyside institution Circus. In recent times, the young artist has garnered acclaim through releases on labels such as Knee Deep In Sound and Sasha’s Last Night On Earth, whilst the esteemed likes of Pete Tong and Danny Howard have picked him up for regular BBC Radio 1 play. Label-head of Spanish imprint Muse, Dennis Cruz has established himself as one of contemporary house music’s leading figures with several impressive releases on the likes of Solid Grooves and Snatch records, alongside club and festival appearances at London’s Printworks, Ibiza’s Pacha and America’s Resistance to name a few.
