A scientific study has taken place exploring the experiential difference between 'Black Body music' and 'other music'. The noticeable difference music lovers and musicians have noticed with 'Black Body music' is that it is not only more beautiful and harmonious to the ears, but it also induces a more inward experience that is felt inside the body and along the spine. 'Other music' was felt as a more outward and mental experience, and felt at the side of the head, which projected outwards. Audiophiles have also stated 'Black Body music' seems to be more spiritual and mathematically consistent with the universe, whereas 'other music' can be perceived as unnatural and can ultimately lead to emotional distress, destruction and war.

German producer Matthias Vogt has deservedly attracted widespread support throughout his career - known for his signature electronic productions as well as being an accomplished jazz musician. ‘Matters’ is an upbeat vocal groover, showcasing this diverse musicality. Matthias’ original receives the remix treatment from two of the scenes brightest talents with a pair of fresh club-ready cuts and an alternative mix rounding off the package.

Purveyor of the underground and Anjunadeep fan favourite, Tom Middleton, boasts an enviable back catalog spanning over the past two decades including reworks of Kerri Chandler, Orbital, Ennio Morricone, Jon Hopkins to name a few. A trusted and consistent producer, Middleton steps up to the plate offering a hallmark melodic rework, injecting an upbeat rolling bassline to the mix alongside textured soundscapes and deft vocal chops.

Next up we welcome Spanish producer and musical innovator Aitor Etxebarria aka El_Txef_A for his Anjunadeep debut. With past releases on the respected labels Permanent Vacation and Hypercolor as well as on his own Fiakun imprint, Aitor has garnered wide spread praise for his forward thinking and complex sound. The first of his two EP contributions, his ‘Cosmic Dub’ a spacey melodic gem awash with soaring synths amidst a laid-back retro groove. Secondly, the genre bending ‘Live From The Elephant Room’ remix (named after the infamous Texan jazz club), El_Txef_A offers a clever and unique take on the original with the addition of percussive jazz elements and warbling rifts.

A new Optimo Music Disco Plate and the debut release from Feon. When these tracks first came my way I instantly knew they were ripe for a release on the label. Original, idiosyncratic, psychedelic, full of imagination and featuring a couple of dancefloor hits, how could I resist? Also, “The Sun is High” was surely destined to become a sun-blissed summer anthem…..
Feon has a few things he’d like to say about this EP :
“I wrote these tracks in a manic ten-day session, shortly after an unravelling ayahuasca ceremony, which is evidenced in the psychedelic sound of the first track in particular. Upon reflection there is something of a primal quality to “The Sun Is High”, we were all sun worshippers at one point in our ancient history. The vocals are my voice stacked thirty odd times in different harmonies, then put through a space echo, and they're followed by some gratuitous Moog noodling to boot! For use at the beach party.
The flip goes into darker more experimental territory, with “Holland Fly By” taking clear inspiration from an old iMPLOG track, and “Without Sound” getting stranger still, the vocal refrain's mournful, tense landscape interrupted by boisterous drums.
Its a real joy and honour that I can add something to the Optimo sound world as it is one that has given me great pleasure over the years.”
