Magician On Duty proudly celebrates the return of Dnl Mike (@dnl_mike) with his highly anticipated fourth release, a project that encapsulates the essence of his musical evolution and his unwavering devotion to storytelling through sound.

Dnl Mike first appeared on the label in 2024 with his debut project Fantasy. The release showcased not only his mastery of the saxophone, piano, guitar, and drums, but also his ability to translate those traditions into a fresh electronic language.

His second release deepened this narrative, weaving warmth and intricacy into the Magician On Duty catalog. Here, he began to shape his signature: deep, melodic, and textural soundscapes that balance meditative introspection with rhythmic drive.

Through remix contributions and collaborative projects, Dnl Mike has since built bridges between genres and cultures, bringing both soulful energy and modern electronic precision to every work. His versatility reflects his eclectic influences—ranging from blues and jazz to rock and classical—while remaining rooted in a timeless sense of melody and atmosphere.

Now, with his fourth release, Dnl Mike delivers his most refined and emotional statement to date. A collection that feels equally at home in intimate listening spaces and expansive dancefloors, the record expands on the themes of transformation, connection, and inner journey. It is music that resonates with both the mind and the heart—crafted with patience, depth, and the wisdom of an artist unafraid to explore new sonic territory.

SoSure Music is pleased to present 'What You've Done' and 'Parker's Lament' by Hollis Parker. 

‘What You’ve Done’ is the lead single from Hollis Parker’s forthcoming album The Last Raw Era. Packed full of cinematic textures, plaintive vocals and dusty house grooves, the album is a musical love-letter to New York City that harks back to bygone days of US house music.  

The Last Raw Era is themed around two distinct love stories: that evolving relationship between two fictional characters, and the entirely real emotion Hollis wears on his sleeve about New York, calling it “the foundation upon which I’m built”.  A hazy melancholy informs much of the album’s tone, with obscure samples dusted off and given a new lease of life in songs that evoke the languid production of Moomin as much as the raw house cuts of the early US masters.

‘What You’ve Done’ is one of the stand-out cuts from the album: simultaneously heartbreaking and uplifting with a 4/4 structure that holds a myriad of samples, vocal snippets and atmospheric melodies in place. Also included is ‘Parker’s Lament’, a woozy house record that was previously only available on vinyl. Both are timeless gems with the power to transport you to another place.

The “Soul Clap Remixes” leads with a bang.  Instrumental jam, “Funk Bomb” gets a proper re-rub by Blakdoctor aka Los Angeles rave legend Doc Martin and Blakkat, who strip Funk Bomb back to the essential groove, beefing it up for dance floor hypnosis with just the right amount of dubbing, FX and vocal ad libs by frequent collaborator, Lilia. Underground Italian New Disco expert Jolly Mare flips “Future 4 Love” into a primetime Italo beast, complete with marching disco bass, call and response synth leads and plenty of modulated melody. Obas Nenor, known for his work with Moodymann’s Mahogani music as well as his own imprint Nenorion, delivers a funk bassline driven version of “Dirty Leslie” that focuses on the original vocals but leaves plenty of room to breath and dance. Finally, Soul Clap Records own resident Jamaican David Marston totally reinterprets “Numb”, reshuffling and looping Ebony Houston’s vocals around a beautiful and melodic downtempo feel. Myles Karp’s guitar and bass work shine through and muted trumpet from Aquiles elevates this remix to a whole new level of class and sophistication.

Following the success of his recent Kompakt single "Somewhere," John Tejada returns to his own Palette Recordings imprint with "Anaphora." After a series of collaborative projects with fellow artists, Tejada distinguishes "Anaphora" as his first solo release on Palette since 2009 and presents a double headliner of his trademark musicality and driving rhythms, delivering a set of two eruptive grooves with a focus that has earned Tejada the respect of both listeners and peers alike.
"Anaphora" continues where John's 2006 smash "The End Of It All" left off, showcasing Tejada's trademark use of hopeful melodies and emotive sequences. It highlights his undeniable quality of crafting arrangements that rise above monotony.
Continuing where Tejada's "Mono On Mono" and "Eurotunnel" left off, "Bode's law" explores a darker, more driving side of the two songs. Furious analog synths and drums orbit each other in syncopation to create an engaging rhythm that is hypnotic and inspiring.

"Snakebite" is the second track on Visionist's upcoming "Snakes" EP on Leisure System Records

The newest release on Leisure System Records comes from Visionist, whose productions have been omnipresent in the London underground since debuting in 2011 despite a sparse release schedule. With records on Big Dada, Signal Life, 92 Points, and a recent feature on Kode9's Rinse CD, Visionist stitches together heady influences while maintaining an obvious devotion to grime. This 3-tracker on Leisure System is some of his strongest work to date, with starry breaks, jittery gunplay, and belching smokestacks accompanying Visionist's journey from the tunnels of South London to the belly of Berghain.
