After having blowing each other’s minds for years with their hard-earned audio finds, Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston decided to organize their own club night in 2010 in order to give their sound an outlet. On July 26th both gentlemen came to Trouw together for the first time and gave us an amazing set filled with primitive house, post-punk, dub, krautrock, disco and new beat. We've isolated a couple of hours of this all night long set by the wonderful music connaisseurs for this twelfth edition of the Trouw Live Podcast Series!

With Echoes, Bas Dobbelaer takes you on an introspective journey where shifting rhythms and immersive atmospheres intertwine, creating a very deep contribution to the series.

“With this mix I tried to find the deeper layer of certain tracks and not limit myself too much with different tempo’s ranges. If it fits the vibe and helping the flow, it’s probably the right spot.

Creating a mix is an interesting creative outlet to discovering new possibilities and refining the art of setting the tone. Balancing on that thin line with endless opportunities, reflects the perfect capture of the feeling and learnings of today.”

Jay Daniel is often called a techno producer, but this Detroit upstart thinks of himself as a proper musician and pushes his compositions beyond the traditional boundaries of the dancefloor. The soulful, percussion-oriented "Squeaky Maya" is taken from his debut album 'Broken Knowz' – an LP slated for release via Ninja Tune offshoot Technicolour on November 25 – and the song debuted on RBMA Radio's First Floor, our weekly look at what's new in electronic music.
