Paranoid London have become synonymous with stripping acid house back down to its basics. Rescuing the sound from smiley faces, rave, and sugary excess. Bård Aasen Lødemel, aka Skatebård, dove into techno and rave culture in the 1990s before becoming a producer of disco, house and techno with a retro-futuristic touch. Originally from Ørsta, he moved to Bergen in 2000, where he quickly became part of the city’s burgeoning club scene. After handing a homemade demo to Mikal Telle, head of Tellé Records, he was signed in 2001 to the sub-label Tellektro. Over the course of an impressive career marked by five albums and more than twenty 12" EPs, he has secured a strong presence in some of the most respected venues on the electronic scene, effortlessly navigating between seemingly opposite genres and moods : Italo disco and raw, Detroit-inspired house and techno. He signs our 264th mix.
