Lurching from a subbass drenched dream, Downliners Sekt continue to surprise, confound and delight with this, the final in their trilogy of 12'' explorations into shattered electric soul music. Having turned heads with their intense, abstracted and very personal approach to bass music in previous releases, this new record surprises us once more with the duo retracting their teeth, and baring their broken hearts in these 4 soul-filled gospel hymns for a technological apocalypse. Mutated guitars wind their way around hypnotic digital syncopations and ghostly choral textures, uplifting and menacing in equal parts.

This is the third and final installment of a trilogy started exactly 12 months ago with the release of the surprising 'Hello lonely, hold the nation' EP which was followed 5 months later by a clear statement: 'We make hits, not the public'. Their new sound has seen rapturous critical reception, their audience growing leaps and bounds with the ongoing trilogy campaign, which, since the beginning, has received wide spread support. The record has also received massive support from different artists around the world, among them The Bug (King Midas Sound), Joshua Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv), Mount Kimbie, King Cannibal, François K and Hollywood movie director Darren Aronofsky.

All sounds came out of my traveling. This is short stories or moments and episodes of my life that became memories. Usually I take my recorder with me when traveling. The sounds (voices, sounds of nature, streets, music instruments, etc.) I bring after that are like photos from my camera. Even better! They are more 'alive'. The sounds that I used for the tracks came from India. You can see it from titles. All what I did with the sounds is added some instruments and melodies to put some emotions.

To us, Daniel Ansorge aka Barnt is what Lady Gaga might be to someone else. Barnt is one of our all-time favorite artists. Whenever he played somewhere nearby, we made sure to be there.

We’ve been following him closely ever since his early releases around 2012. So you can imagine that having Barnt play at Festival Rosnička 2024 was a dream come true for us.

Even though Daniel, together with his label Magazine, has influenced an entire decade of younger underground music producers, he has remained incredibly humble and modest. He also never lowered the quality of his music or changed his sound just to become more popular.

We’re honored to share with you one third of Daniel’s set from his performance at Rosnička 2024.

今回公開するのは、BARフロアでの極上のミックス。彼の人柄がにじみ出る、温かくも奥行きのあるセットとなっており、本人もとても気に入っているとのこと。私たちとしても、この音源をアーカイブとして共有できることをとても嬉しく思います。

The 17th edition of our MOMENT Archives series, which captures the raw energy and atmosphere of our artists’ live performances, features a very special set from Sam Goku, who made his debut visit to Japan this year.

He performed on two stages during the event — delivering a groovy, body-moving house set on the dance floor, and later, a beautiful and serene morning set that gently blended into the fresh early air.

The mix we’re sharing today is his stunning BAR floor set — warm, layered, and full of character, truly reflecting his personality. Sam himself mentioned that this is one of his favorite sets, and we’re honored to share it as part of our archive series.
