Okay, so here's the set up. It's that famous scene from "Blank Slates", the under appreciated but much loved by misfits and outsiders 1986 film. It was very much considered a flop on it's initial release, but quickly grew a cult following upon it's VHS release in early 1987. In this, possibly the movie's most beloved moment, Derrek has picked up Vivian in his second hand 1977 Nova. As this is a first date for both of them, there is little talk between them and what there is is nervous at best. As they head towards the school dance, neither knowing what lay in store, either for this one night or for the rest of their lives, the only sound for most of the ride is the song playing on the mix tape in Derrek's stereo....
