Gladio Operations inaugurates 2023 with its seventh release titled “Split Machine”, a new series of shared EPs, where in this first episode the producers Jauzas The Shining and Cycloplex go halves on the EP.

The French producer returns to Gladio with three cuts which possess his peculiar and characteristic rugged sound. The EP launches with "Business Machines” and “Isla De Encanto”, two powerful cuts with aggressive and noticeable basslines filled-up with dark textures. Jauzas gifts us a last cut titled “Equation”, a nod to the EBM sound, where he preserves the same darkness as in the previous cuts.

On side B we encounter the Spanish producer Francisco Aguado, who has recently released his first work under the "Cultivated Electronics" label under his new electro alias, Cycloplex. With two cuts titled “Intercepted” and “Acid Machine”, Cycloplex reveals his particular minimalist vision of electro sound in an abstract journey of excellent monotonous rhythms.

Far Out Radio Systems, the brainchild of Belgian producer Thomas Neyens is about to take you on a journey unlike any other. His upcoming album, "Mariana No Death," plunges you into the inky depths of the Mariana Trench, where solace and sonic exploration collide.

This four-track sampler is your first taste of the album's immersive world. It features two album tracks and two exclusive cuts: the pulsating, analog beast "Raingods" and the hypnotic, slow-motion "The Oracle Emile" – perfect for late-night dives.

However, our focus today is on "Inside The Horizon," the opening track of the sampler, and the grand finale of "Mariana No Death." True to Neyens' signature sound, it features warm, analog broken beats, ethereal vocals, and melancholic pads. Clave hits echo in the distance like raindrops, adding a beautiful touch and keeping the rhythm alive. It's a melancholy yet triumphant return for Far Out Radio Systems.

"Inside the Horizon" drops on February 23rd, followed by the full "Mariana No Death" LP on March 22nd via Something Happening Somewhere.

About:
Jan Mayen immortalises five years of Hjemme Med Dama with a compilation that floats through the serene pastures of club music with tracks from some HMD favorites and same new arrivals to the catalogue. With a mood solidified in slow energy and downbeat, the EP strikes a particular chord with the times and the theme of the young Oslo label. 

“Why it is a downbeat selection is more or less random,” says Jan Mayen head of HMD, but after receiving Slangejente’s “Svart Slitesterk Teip Rundt Hjernen,” a compilation EP took shape, with Helene Rickhard, Florian Kupfer, Kim Dürbeck, Fredfades, Imaginary_FRND, Sagittarii Acid and Wasserfall contributing to the release. 

“Svart Slitesterk Teip Rundt Hjernen” is a sweet melancholic affair with kick drums jutting out in great peaks through an opaque cloud of visceral melodies and airy harmonics. A tumultuous dreamscape, it sets the tone of a record that could go from room 2 to touching the sky where Sagittarii Acid’s flinty synthetics and squawking 303s rain down on hasty kicks drums counting four to the floor. An all-encompassing record with everything from Liquid Drum n Bass to Trance contained in wax, it represents the extensive range of HMD and Jan Mayan’s proclivities.  

A concept that grew out of bedroom mixtape and into one of Oslo’s most dedicated platforms for original music, Hjemme Med Dama has gathered an impressive list of contributors to its ranks, stretching from Oslo to Finland and Germany, solidifying the concept on this disc, while also looking towards the future. 

From Helen Rickard’s new-age plucks to Wasserfall’s ambience as deconstructed soundscape, HMD003 drifts through deep ravines between musical paradigms; lost in an introspective sonic landscape amid sweet contemplative melodies and lethargic progressions.
