Recent drifts in reading and listening brought me to a new tuning of the guitar based vaguely on the Raag Madhuwanti. This resulted in an 11 track album. These are not derivations so much as deviations or wanderings and I was reminded by some brain active inside my brain about the Situationalist concept  of the dérive (French: [de.ʁiv], "drift") is an unplanned journey through a landscape, usually urban, in which participants stop focusing on their everyday relations to their social environment. Developed by members of the Letterist International, it was first publicly theorized in Guy Debord's "Theory of the Dérive" (1956). Debord defines the dérive as "a mode of experimental behaviour linked to the conditions of urban society: a technique of rapid passage through varied ambiances. That's what most of music is, I think, if "urban" can also be stretched to mean ecological community.

My work with radio as a decided sound source goes back to 1991. Those who'd like to trace my backstory are kindly invited to visit my blog. transparent-abelard.blogspot.com/2023/01/…eff.html  Radio Art is still not very systematically assesed (thank the gods). Some think they are "radio art" because they work now or once worked at a radio station or program. Radio Art involves both all that and anything and all things alien and other which gets into the stream of what we are calling radiomagnetic spectrum waves. My practice in this field is both scientific and experimental in terms of the sound released. I use several radios and resampling devices out in the open field in the open air. I study atmospheric conditions and monitor space weather. I don't have many friends who can follow what I'm talking about and this fact often makes me gaslight my very own self at times. Be that as it once have maybe been, I feel, through, after, many years of meditatiion in this field that radiosferism is alterity orientation (relatedness to the other) and that it's non-dualist apperceptions concieve the ordinal within irregularities. Radio art in my practice has the task to create a consciousness manifold able to receive many messages simulataneously, akin to a mycelium. There is no soloist in the radio context. Even if I work most often alone.

Sources are radio waves, so there's instability, unpredictability into the mix, keeps the improvisation on the go. The ensemble en suite.

Rafał Iwański a.k.a. X-NAVI:ET is a percussionist and electronic sound artist from Toruń, Poland.  As soloist he creates electro-acoustic music, a combination of analog and digital electronic  devices with acoustic instruments and field/found recordings. R. Iwański is the enduring member and co-founder of the group HATI (established in 2001, since 2007 the duo consists of Rafał Iwański and Rafał Kołacki plus guest musicians), whose improvised music employs the sounds of traditional ethnic instruments and re-cycled objects to create ritual and meditative atmospheres. He has performed many times with HATI, as soloist and with other bands/projects throughout Europe and USA. He has collaborated live and studio with Kuba Ziołek a.k.a. Stara Rzeka (duo KAPITAL), Wojciech Zięba a.k.a.  Electric Uranus (project VOICES OF THE COSMOS; together with astronomer Sebastian Soberski), Anna Pilewicz (audio-video project "AQUALUNA"), Z'EV, Richard Pinhas, Jerzy Mazzoll, Zdzisław Piernik, Jeff Gburek, and others.
