Bouffant Bouffant is a DJ, Producer, and party starter from New Orleans, Louisiana. He cut his teeth in local sex clubs, warehouses, and dive bars but has become a major player on the bubbling American Queer Underground nightlife circuit as well as International jaunts to play for the likes of Buttons Berlin and Savage Hanoi. His monthly party Gimme A Reason has been fostering space for queer nightlife in New Orleans for over 9 years. He’s also 1/3 of queer and women lead DJ collective Trax Only and 1/2 of DJ duo Babygirl. Trax Only have become infamous for their one off warehouse raves that expose New Orleans to a plethora of national and international queer talent as well as their compilation SOFT TOUCH EXPRESS, a survey of producers from the American Queer Underground.

"A couple weeks ago I played the first Buttons party in Berlin with zero Covid restrictions at a beautiful new venue in Treptower Park. This mix is the first hour of that set. It was sunrise and the sun peaked through floor to ceiling windows of a gorgeous ballroom packed with the most beautiful queer babes. It was one of the most special sets of my life and one of the best parties I've ever attended. I wanted to stamp that moment in time with this mix."

Ron Like Hell provides eclectic sets venturing into obscure international sounds, Techno, Synth, House, Acid and Disco which are appreciated by some of the most discerning dance floor enthusiasts.

Approaching a dj mix as assemblages, Ron Like Hell aligns sound with emotion, focusing on texture to create psychedelic soundscapes, imaginative spaces for comfort and surprise spectators with an unexpected crafty transition. With 27+ years of making people dance in numerous countries along with years of vinyl shop experience and music promotion, his/their role in the industry is unique and influential. Their latest production, EXALT is their dream come true where Ron selects a personally beloved dj to play solo then close out the night together with a b2b set. EXALT's first guest was Matrixxman in April 2022 at Basement in Ridgewood-Queens, NY. Ron also djs as Wrecked, a music first queer dance party which will turn 12 in March of 2023.

"Created deep from the bottom of my heart respectfully for the queer community in my off kilter multi-genre inclusive style this live in one take mix includes vinyl and cdj media. Mash-ups sit near disco originals, disco sampled 90s house thumpers meet modern deep tech house
pumpers and adjacent to all that, unashamed sassy vocal house is celebrated too. I also featured a few productions by some friends near and far: a trend that I can not shake since creating mixes during the 2020 shutdown. Overall, I wanted this mix to be a version of near
perfect just as when we go out and hear DJs at the club where a perfect blend is a fortunate dream come true and also some skips or light off the beat-mixing reminds us of our beautiful mortality. I feel the intention and soul of the dj is revealed when those moments are noticed. Harry Gay is a London-based DJ, event producer, and full-time homosexual. And yes, it’s his real name. As the founder of London-based DJ collective @queerhouseparty he leads a new wave of London dance-floor revolutionaries. Harry is a mainstay at parties such as Body Movements, Homobloc, Feel It, Trade, Mimis, and Milk. And a resident at venues Dalston Superstore, The Garage, and Metropolis. He has also out Mixes for Lot Radio, Radio 1 Dance, BBC 6Muisc, and Howl. Expect Genre-bending queer-thumping chaos, taking you through a blend of hard house, campy techno, nostalgic pop, bass-fuelled acid, and heavy breaks.

"This mix was recorded right after Dripping, which was a breath of fresh air (no pun intended) in terms of music that moved both my brain and body. I wanted to explore my gravitation toward dance music with introspection -- psychedelia, murky breaks, and a final indulgence in trance / prog house. This mix is the culmination of my two year journey as a dj so far. I truly believe in house music as both a sound as well as a culture and deep-seated belief. Which is why I decided to bookmark the mix with DJ Deeon (rip) and the all-time soulful classic “Promised Land”, it’s a celebration as well as a love letter to the music that has changed my life forever. 

For me the promised land of house music hasn’t faded away. No matter what happens, house music will never be about guest lists and exclusivity, frat bros, pseudo-intellectualism and superiority complexes and bruised egos. Sobolik is a Queens, NY producer and DJ who's turned heads over the past several years with futuristic club cuts on labels like All Centre, Kindergarten, 3024, early reflex, and CloudCore. These tracks have been supported by DJs across scene and genre boundaries—modern techno shredders like VTSS and CEM, hyper-club divas like Morenxx and Ariel Zetina, colorful percussion wizards like CCL and Rroxymore, and UK bass stalwarts like Lee Gamble and Anz alike have shared Sobolik's work at parties around the globe. Sobolik's world is filled with color and hyperkinetic energy—not fitting in one box, their output reacts to a broad palette of styles within both North American and UK club music. As a member of the Antidote and Kindergarten collectives, they work to connect these dots among likeminded artists in the Brooklyn rave ecosystem. They currently hold a Lot Radio residency with the Kindergarten crew and co-organize Antidote, a queer day rave whose previous bookings include DJ Voices, Russell E.L. Butler, Sister Zo, and Ron Like Hell.

"This mix was improvised in a single take from my new bedroom in Ridgewood. It starts neat and tidy and steadily unspools until a critical moment breaks the sound apart completely. It cuts through many compatible styles; elements of rolling dubstep, old-school techno, jazzy broken beat, smoked-out tech house, and modern perc steppers enter the fray...... until the cool rolling mood gives way for something more indefinable. Charles Hawthorne (they/them) is a Black queer DJ based in Oakland, CA. Hot track selection and divinatory crowd reading have made Charles Hawthorne a force behind the decks and in the nightlife community. "This mix is the live set I performed at Trans Pecos in Brooklyn, NY on August 17th, 2024 for the Xenasphere party series. Lately, I have been steadfast in producing & playing my slower breakbeat, house and club oeuvres, and was ecstatic to break away for a night and play the faster Footwork, Jump, and Jungle music that got me into DJing and raving in the first place. I met a lot of lovely young ravers that night who were very passionate about music and dancing, and felt emboldened by that wonderful night of connection to share this mix with the Xoxa community."

Byld (James Preston) is a session bass player/multi-instrumentalist turned DJ living in Brooklyn NY. Deeply influenced by the Queer underground NYC dance scene, Byld was initially called into DJing by a love for the deep/melodic/minimal sides of house and techno. Apart from playing out on his own he is 1/2 of the DJing/production duo Underpass with John Barera. Their debut EP comes out next year via Sorry Records.

"This is a little collage of sounds I love: some 90's vocals, some UK bass, some melodic techno, and a bunch of chunky deep house. I collected these tracks over the course of the summer and put them all together on a hot day in August, which to me is definitely reflected in the mood and sound. I hope you enjoy!"

BEIGE (they/them)

BEIGE by name but definitely not by nature, this Detroit-based DJ specializes in multi-hued, carefully considered and highly danceable sets. Whether they’re playing smooth R&B and downtempo soul, crunchy electro, cheeky disco edits or oddball tech house, the only constant in their sets is quality. As likely to play a huge hit as to introduce you to your new favorite track, BEIGE occupies an important niche between their stuffier and less imaginative peers. Armed with a healthy disrespect for genre and convention and a discerning but unpretentious music collection, BEIGE aims to please, but more commonly thrills, delights, and inspires.

"This mix is a recording of a peak-time set I played around this time last year, in the Tangent Gallery Ballroom in Detroit at Samhain XXIII, a collaboration between Interdimensional Transmissions and T4TLUVNRG. My set time was between a long, very masterful warmup by Sold, and the ecstatic closing magic of Eris Drew b2b Octo Octa, the atmosphere was pretty Halloween-adjacent (lots of people wearing costumes, including me as Harley Quinn lol) and open, and for whatever reason it was one of those nights where the stars aligned in such a way that I was able to reach down somewhere inside and pull out a really wide-ranging, high-energy, cathartic performance which I kind of surprised myself with. It was towards the end of what had been a super hard year for me personally, but this was the best and most fun I'd had playing in a long, long time and there's truly something for everyone in there--acid, deep house, breaks, hardcore, diva vocals, swirly bell techno, ballads, jungle, and a handful of obligatory Beige pop moments that had a whole room full of Very Serious Real Music Appreciators and Good Taste-Havers absolutely *screaming*. Hope y'all enjoy it as much as I did!"

Eager to experiment and explore the full spectrum of Techno, the Berlin-based DJ & producer, INVERNO likes to blend boundaries between deep/hypnotic and hard/industrial Techno. 
INVERNO is the head of KLEM, an experimental label about Ambient, Lofi and Techno. 
In 2019, INVERNO founded BLVSH collective, whose mission is to grow the exposure, peer support and promotion of FLINTA* talents.

Notes on the Mix ///

"Recorded on four decks (one vinyl and three CDJs) in the last days of Summer, this nearly 2 hours mix blends techno (from deep to hard), ambient, and broken beats, weaving a narrative of melancholy and nostalgia. I see each set as a cinematic experience, where visuals and sound are inseparable.

Throughout the set, I mixed in unreleased pieces of my own: drones and loops crafted on hardware, layered with timeless tracks, giving an ethereal, filmic feel. 
Almost as if you would listen to this set recorded on a cassette, comfortably driving your Renault Alpine.

The set concludes with an unreleased track of mine that is very special. 
Called “You Have A New Message”, it’s part of a 4 tracks EP that I plan to release next year."

Terrence Michael (he/him) 

Terrence Michael is a London-based DJ and visual artist originally from New York City. Inspired deeply by the eclectic mixing style of house music’s early DJ’s and his years spent as a dedicated dancer in NYC's queer house/techno scene, Terrence has crafted an approach to music that is tension-heavy, funky, psychedelic and leftfield yet decidedly soulful. Terrence cut his teeth DJing at house parties, after hours and clubs around NYC including Trans-Pecos, Black Flamingo and Fotografiska’s Chapel Bar. His mixing style explores the friction created from contrast while still being mindful of cohesive narrative and is marked by free flowing selections that vary from house, disco, techno, soul and funk to assorted strains of UK dance music.

"I made this mix after a rejuvenating weekend in upstate New York with a group of lovely friends. It has truly been a while since I spent time with loved ones, ate often and well, and slept more than 4 hours. All that is to say, I felt creatively and energetically charged! She went on to use those experiences as a key focus in her sets: always dance floor oriented and with the collective moment in mind, zikade’s selection is characterized by a love for hard kicks, rolling beats and trippy melodies. zikade wants her sound to be less connected by genre than by atmosphere: dark but groovy, melancholic but sexy. Based in Berlin, zikade is a resident DJ for the queer collective SLIME, regularly performing at their bi-monthly events and various showcases.

Lately, I have challenged myself to become more eclectic and playful in my sets, something I admire and enjoy a lot when I’m on the dancefloor myself. "This mix was recorded on a cold, December afternoon in the basement of my dear friend and mentor, Dr. Fruit, with no particular plan. I ended up exploring some of the darker, more tense corners of the bouncy, minimal house and techno I'm drawn to. Hope this helps to keep you warm through the winter xoxo."

A selectress with no inhibitions digging & choosing parts that build to adventurous, energetic, seductive, & rapturous sets spanning many genres: Dee Diggs is a DJ and writer based in Brooklyn, NY.  She is unapologetically black, queer, and a life long student of the tenets of House Music.

Her energetic, yet deep approach to DJing has seen this Boston to Brooklyn transplant lighting up dance floors all over; in particular, garnering attention in the queer party scene. The year 2020 found her at the top of her game after a debut European tour during August 2019 and gearing up for another tour in April 2020 before the COVID-19 shutdowns took the world spinning in a different direction. Now, she can be found making DJ mixes that range from easy listening for those quarantined at home to high energy nostalgia for those who miss the clubs. 

Notes on the Mix ///
"I wanted to do an interesting split in this mix: 50% what I consider easy-listening and then ramp up into 50% songs I would play more around others or in a DJ set. Practicing that progression can be one of the most nuanced parts of live DJing or mix making. It is a pleasure to combine 2 moods and have them bridge seamlessly. I think of it as the dissonance between what I was listening to at home or in the car before the gig and what I will press play on when I arrive inside the booth at set time."
