A recent transplant from her longtime base in Pittsburgh to NYC, she is a promoter and resident DJ at Pittsburgh scene nexus @hot-mass. As a curator and experiential producer, she co-founded VIA Festival in Pittsburgh, the @gfx-pgh collective, and has held curatorial positions with Public Records in NYC, New Forms Festival in Vancouver, and other clubs and museums.

"I’ve been finding a ton of joy in like deep wonked out psychedelic slammin jack tracks lately ! I really love everyone at XOXA and am so happy to contribute to this series so I wanted to translate some of that kind of bleery eyed weak knees joy that only house can give me for this mix. Tried to not overthink it which made for some nice happy accidents like playing both the a & b side of that DJ Pierre/Phortune record and that stretch of three tracks with “The Beginning” in their titles that happens in middle of the mix. Probably played more than like like 5 tracks that I would consider to be huge classics in my own musical life as well as a cuts from a lot of the folks I hold super close to my heart making an appearance — Stevie Wonder, David Morales, Spencer Kincy, Ali Berger, Grant Nelson… This wacky voodoo ray remix I just found… The original mix was the first track I played in my first DJ set on a roof at a Sorry Records party a long time ago. There’s a bit where I got way too carried away with the Din Daa Daa “dah!” sample from congo d max mix lol that was my little Junior Vasquez drama big room moment !! Btw Junior did the mix on that Angel track I played too. There’s a nod to the motherbeat with the Slits cut as well <3 Oh also thank you Tony G for ripping that record and the E-Culture cut for me as well as Rave Cafe’s Disco Smile and Dalton Saffe for letting me record this at their house and cooking a beautiful dinner!! - couldn’t have done it without em <3 “

Q. How would you describe yourself?
A. Cutty Sav.  In Love.  Grateful.

Q. How long have you been a part of the NY music scene?
A. I first performed in NYC in 2005 with my teenage metal band Animosity and many times over the next few years.  I loved the feverish energy of the New York shows and when the band broke up in 2009, I moved to Brooklyn from my hometown San Francisco. I’ve been raving it up here ever since. In my first couple years here I used to DJ using Abelton Live at small clubs like Zebulon and Glasslands and some parties that friends and I would throw around Brooklyn.  After a while I basically lost interest in playing out, but definitely continued to seek new music all the time and just go in deeper on the dancefloor.  I think I was enjoying parties more just as a dancer because it freed up my listening experience from hunting for new tunes or aspiring to control the vibe.  It wasn’t until about a year ago that I ran it back and really got excited about DJing again.  Thanks to some very encouraging friends I’m playing more frequently these days and every time it’s a joyful celebration.

Q. Tell us a little bit about this mix.
A. These are all tracks that I have been playing out recently.  This mix is that single top shelf mushroom that smacks a little too hard.  It's getting kicked out of your beautiful apartment in a horrific rental market.  It's projectile barfing off the platform of a six flags roller coaster and then eating ice cream.  Its fucking at the edge of a massive Icelandic waterfall.  This is an hour of peak time Baby Leo going straight in, making up for all those years I didn’t. It’s Dripping. It’s Groovy. It’s a Low Frequency Wormhole.  It’s all love inside.
