XPATME o “Expansive Time” è il nuovo progetto musicale di Carlo Toma, artista italiano tra i più giovani ad aver iniziato la sua carriera musicale sia da produttore che da deejay. 
Nasce nel Salento nell’aprile del ’91 e inizia ad avvicinarsi alla musica elettronica all’età di 14 anni quando il padre gli regala un semplice mixer 2 canali. Inizia una nuova avventura per Carlo che, attratto dai suoni e dai progetti di Little Louie Vega, Miss Kittin, Alex Neri, Felix da Housecat, Tiga, Daft Punk, inizia a sperimentare nei suoi set proponendo musica di qualità fino a riscontrare sempre più consensi tra la gente. Matura la sua carriera da dj quando nel 2010 – fino al 2013 - diventa resident del Quartiere Latino, uno dei club più importanti del Sud Italia, al fianco di Dj Fiore (Angels of Love) esperienza che porta Carlo a condividere il palco insieme ad artisti come Deep Dish, Chris Liebing, Carl Craig, Danny Tenaglia, Steve Bug, 2000andOne, Tania Vulcano, Cassius, Octave One, Josh Wink, Laura Jones, Tony Humpries, Riva Starr, Guy Gerber, Craig Richards, Ilario Alicante e molti altri djs nazionali ed internazionali. 
Nell’estate del 2011 ha la fortuna di rilasciare il suo disco “Back to panorama’s love” sulla major Defected In The House, grazie al supporto di Pete Tong che inserisce il brano nella compilation “Wonderland” suonandolo in tutto il mondo e soprattutto sulla nota emittente radiofonica inglese BBC1. La carriera discografica di Carlo sembra avviarsi bene e dopo una serie di uscite su alcune labels di fama internazionale - come VIVa MUSiC, Cr2 Records, Snatch!Records (con un remix ufficiale per Riva Starr), Recyle Records – nel 2012 stampa il suo primo vinile “No Se Oye” su Lost Land Records, suonato e supportato da artisti come Loco Dice, Ellen Allien, Simina Grigoriu, Richie Hawtin, Paco Osuna e molti altri.
Sono state una serie di esperienze vissute nel corso degli anni che hanno portato Carlo a sperimentare - sia nei dj set che nelle produzioni – un sound contaminato da groove techno, ambientazioni dark/psichedeliche e synth acid, nasce così: “Expansive Time” o “Xpatme” 
Attualmente Carlo è il fondatore e coordinatore di Sound Anarchy - organizzazione di eventi di musica techno/elettronica – protagonista di alcuni tra i migliori party underground del sud italia, la prima ad aver ospitato nel Salento artisti come Emmanuel (ARTS), ANFS (Modal Analysis), Alhek (Mechanical Thoughts Record / Berlin) e molti altri talenti del panorama techno nazionale ed internazionale.

Hailing from Milan, Italy, up and coming artist XPATME greets us with tales from his modular synth and drum machine in this peek preview of his new album, set for release in December. Reminding us of the beauty and power of industrial techno, these 4 tracks hold a charge suitable for filling a vast and dark warehouse full of techno lovers. Each of them was written and produced by Carlo Toma AKA XPATME, who is also the man behind Sound Anarchy Records, and mastered in Berlin by Alhek. In addition to this, the artwork was created by Karmagraphic.

MADRE DEL CAOS introduces us to XPATME’s experimental style, with bellowing robotic groans of the synth producing an exciting and atmospheric sound. Secondly, SINGULARITY rolls out over a thumping bassline, with an enticing build up that takes us on a journey through space and time. The third preview track, POINT OF NO RETURN grapples with a more twisted groove, giving rise to ethereal alien-like cries from the darker chasms of XPATME’s soundscape. Last but not least, FAITHFUL TO THE LINE calls us to attention with a punching drumbeat, painted over with abstract melodies from the modular synth that provides a real contribution to the industrial techno genre.

Overall, this is a very promising preview that leaves us wanting to hear a lot more from XPATME.

The full EP is set to be released on the 18th December.
