Within reach felt with fingertips
Yet it seems so unreal    
A far-fetched fantasy, so compelling

Pitch black strands flow in the breeze
Tucked to reveal
Flawless emerald gemstones shining 
Like a portal to paradise

A picture's worth a thousand words
And says nothing at all
This  moment can never be told
The way it was felt

Certain but unsure - a price to pay
The sparks were withheld
Just in case they might have dispelled

But for so short a time
Though every single second counted   
And so did the signs
Both the scenery and the architecture
Made the night sublime
But still not as pretty as you
